John H. BURD

BURD John H. Of Granite Farms Estates, Media, PA died peacefully on February 8, 2023 at the age of 84. John was born in Philadelphia, a graduate of Jenkintown High School and Rutgers University. John served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He spent his career in financial services where he met his wife while they both worked at Girard Bank. They moved to London with Chemical Bank and thoroughly enjoyed their time overseas. He was a loyal Pennsylvania State University supporter and lifetime member of the Nittany Lion Club, civic leader serving as Haverford Township School Board President, Adjunct Business Professor at Rutgers and Temple University and was devoted to family and church. John was the beloved husband of the late Barbara Burd, father of John Burd Jr. (Kristen) and Robert Burd (Ingrid), grandfather of Tyler, Lindsey, Emily and Julia. He is also survived by his loving sister Linda Bailey (Hank) and sister in law Joan Clarke. A private Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, 625 Montgomery Ave., Bryn Mawr, PA 19010.
