I just had a total knee replacement.
In 1973, Dr. Lachman removed my medial meniscus which had been severely torn in an accident although not found by other physicians. I remember his kindness and compassion to this 17 yr old whose widowed mom sought him out as the best surgeon to take care of me at Temple University. Well I made it, bone on bone till 2021. I’d say that’s pretty good and I thank Dr. Lachman for his brilliance to discover the real source of my inability to walk, get me back to band and graduation.
I always remembered his technique
he used on the Eagles players after their knee surgeries and knee I could get through.
I went on to Temple Pharmacy and have had many hours of standing in my practice. To this day I remember him kindly (and Dr. Steele too) for taking such good care of me enabling me to do what I love to do.
I just felt the family should know he touched not only me but the lives of many and for 1 I have been very grateful. I have been proud to point to my scar and say, Dr. Lachman, renowned orthopedic surgeon from Temple did my surgery

Debbie Gower and Holly Streat are my sisters. Together my parents brought us all to see Dr. Lachman when we needed surgery as children. He performed 6 surgeries on me during my growth years. He was a kind man and very dear friend to our family. He also took over for Dr. Moore who was my fathers surgeon at the time and eventually took over his care. Over the decades he has treated all of us in one fashion or another. His presence will be sorely missed and he has forever touched our family. We love and miss you Dr. Lachman. Rest in peace.

Dr. Lachman was my orthopedic surgeon when I was a young girl at the age of 2. I don't recall him, but my father Richard Orner spoke highly of him & his skill as a wonderful surgeon. God bless you Dr. Lachman & thank you.

I have fond memories being welcomed at jack's house when Tina lived there during the college years. We had many dinners cooked by Gran. The door was always open. He was a wonderful brother, son and uncle. I'm sure he will be missed by all.

To the Family of Dr. John Lachman
I was so sad to hear of Dr. Lachman's passing but I was happy and thankful that I called to wish him a Happy Birthday on his birthday Sept. 18th. I did talk however to Mary his sister. As my son Danny, and my daughter Nancy has said in her expression of condolences we haveknown Dr. Lachman (Latch) as we called him had taken care of my husband Dan, Nancy and Danny. We just had such fond memories of him and we were so fond of him as a person with such compassion and dedication . We also enjoyed being with him many times as he came to our house for dinner as Danny explained and just enjoyed his company. I know my husband Dan will greet him with open arms when they both meet in heaven. Take care, Latch. I will miss you and your love and dedication and will never forget all you did for our family. Love, loria Murphy.
