First I would like to express our deepest sympathy to the Quinn family for their loss.
I knew John for many years and watched him in his struggles for sobriety, and in that struggle he taught many people that you only fail if you stop trying.
I'm sure if John could speak he would say; Death is only a temporary separation and in it I say to all my love ones family and friends we will all meet again soon. Until then remember I have loved you all.

John I knew you from grade school, saw you on the streets through the years, there was a time that you did not remember me ,but in the last five years I saw you passing by and you remembered me. I knew that that you were getting your life together and now I know that you have been helping other people . My nephew Timmy Ryan was also a help with AA. I am sure you will be missed as he is too. I grew up with John and saw him during bad times. Have been out of the city for a long time but to hear that "Mole" was clean for 9 years wow the program does work. I am sure that he helped many people along the way. God Bless

John was with me in NY on 9/11/2001 and we witnessed first hand the devastation of that day. He was afraid of heights and he wanted to go to the top of the WTC on that day; we had every intention of being on the observation deck that afternoon. John Quinn was unique in his intelligence and compassion, may we all recover our innocence as he surely did. And may we all ascend to heaven as quickly. God bless.
Love, your friend,

John was the perfect example that A.A. works. I watched John suffer from this disease for years, yet A.A. and its members never give up hope and always welcomed him back. With all of the trials and tribulations of life John stayed sober for over nine years. What more could any alcoholic ask for then to live and die sober. God bless you John.

Jonnny Boy; I gonna miss seeing you around, you reall were an Icon for the Helpless, Homeless, & Hopeless of our area. You actually showed others that no matter what you can stop.
