JOHN THOMAS BRINTON Obituary

BRINTON JOHN THOMAS Passed on June 7th, 2023 due to complications from pneumonia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin Brinton and Gaynell (Herd) Brinton. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Pamela, his daughter and son-in-law Chuck and Lauren Gottesman, and his "Buddy-Boy", grandson Everett. He is also survived by his sister, LoKiel Miller. Jack dedicated his career to teaching fourth grade in Springfield Township School District. He loved to trade teaching stories with his daughter Lauren, who also became a fourth grade teacher. While some would consider his stature intimidating, those who knew Jack well would think of him as a gentle giant. Jack had the gift of gab and could make friends with anyone. He loved his Philly sports teams, especially his Phillies and Eagles, and it was a great day when he saw the Eagles clinch the Super Bowl in 2018. Jack will be remembered for his positivity during the many health challenges he faced in his later years. No matter what, he would say "I'm still kicking", with a smile on his face. In lieu of flowers, please give a smile and a kind word to a stranger in honor of our "Jackie". Arrangements by FITZPATRICK FUNERAL HOME, Abington

I'm so sad that Jack is gone. And grateful to remember him this Christmas. He truely was a "Gentle Giant." Whenever you had the opportunity to be with him he had a way of making you feel special. One of my fondest memories is with you Pam and Jack at the shore helping with the races and the night before dinner. Such a good time. Thinking of you Pam and your family.

Dearest Pam, Lauren, Chuck and Everett. I was so sorry to hear of Jack's passing. He was a very special man with a huge heart. He always made me laugh snd made me feel special when I was and his presence. He truly was a gentle giant. May his light continue to shine in the lives of those he touched.

Gentle giant. That is a good description of Jack. I taught his 4th grade class art during my first year teaching. It was a challenging group. He managed them masterfully, I did not. Jack taught me a lot that year. I am grateful for his guidance and his warm humorous demeanor. My condolences to Pam and family.

Although 4th grade was one of my toughest years in Springfield Township, I learned so much from Mr. Brinton! I can still recite the opening paragraph to my 5 minute speech on JFK!
