I was so sad to see the passing of Joe Lang. I wanted to say a few words about Joe and his wife Eleanor. I met them both in a parish group in St Damien Parish in Ocean City. At the time I had been away from the church for more than 20 years. I was amazed at how welcoming, kind, caring and respectful they were to everyone. When Eleanor passed and Joe left town we lost a big part of the heart of our parish. But looking back on this I now understand how blessed we were to have two people to model for us what it is truly like to be a Christian. They both gave themselves to the homebound, the poor, and even the prisoners in the county jail. We had a perfect example of what the unconditional love of Jesus looks like.

We´ll miss you Joe!

Words can not express the love, respect and admiration I´ve held for "Coach" over the years. He helped teach me how to approach life, people and competition. To keep things in the proper perspective. Love your family, your friends and turn the other cheek to those who have been less than kind to you. To be selfless and think of others before yourself. Always be willing to give of yourself. Coach, you made me a better athlete, but more importantly, you made me a better person by providing me with a true role model. You will be missed.
