Dr. Laucius was my Mom's oncologist from 1987-1994. His kindness and gentle humor made life so much better. She looked forward to her appointments and treatment. We would go get lunch or dinner afterwards, she wanted to do all she could to stay well.
Dr. Laucius made a big difference in her journey, for family as well. He will always be remembered with gratitude. Thank you.

My husband Charley and I were so sorry to hear of
Dr. Laucius´ passing. Back in 1984 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 5 months pregnant, Dr. Laucius was a guiding light through a trying time. Thank God, I delivered a beautiful baby girl who is now the mother of three beautiful daughters.
Dr. Laucius had told me when I first went to see him that the freckles on my face were "angel kisses." This was very comforting to me at that time. My father, Dr. Toland,
Also was a patient of Dr. Laucius and knew him through his affiliation with Nazareth Hospital. A kind and perceptive physician, Fred Laucius knew exactly how and when to give his patients what they needed in their treatment, both medically and for their spirits sake.
I will always remember how he told me that he had
My daughter Katie´s photo on his bureau and he would look at it each morning before work to remind him of why
He continued in the difficult field of oncology. She was a success story. We were most grateful to have he and Mrs. Laucius at that daughter´s wedding.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Laucius family. We hope that these rememberances will be a consolation to them all.
With sincerest sympathy, Charley and Mari Connolly

Fred was a beloved and respected member of our 1967 Class at Jefferson Medical College. He was a true gentleman. I was always so impressed that he was a graduate of Swarthmore College. He was highly regarded by his patients and always spoke lovingly of his family. I was looking forward to seeing him at our 55th Reunion in October 2022. May his memory serve as a blessing. I will miss him greatly.

My sadness and shock upon learning of the passing my friend of nearly 60 years was beyond words.
No, not now, I thought. We haven’t talked enough. We’ve never taken the time to talk about our friendship, about what really matters in life. Too much time spent on the superficial; the Phillies, the Eagles.
To my everlasting regret I often in recent years took our friendship for granted, was tardy in responding to his calls. He called days before his death and left a brief voice mail. I planned to contact him this weekend. Too late.
I can’t believe he’s gone. One of my favorite people: brilliant, at times funny as hell, a terrific athlete, a war hero, a humble and caring physician.
I’ll miss you , Fred. I’m honored to have you call me your friend. Love, Jack

To Gail, Eric, Andy, Sara, and the whole Laucius family: hamakom yinachem eschem b'soch sh'ar aveilei tzion virushalayim.
I'll always remember seeing Dr. Laucius relax after a long day's work with "The Annals of Mathematics". At the time I didn't know anyone who could read such complex material but he never showed off. About that or anything else he knew or did. Dr. Laucius was an inspiring model of brilliance and humility, ideas and negotiating the world as lived.
May his memory be for a blessing,
Rustin Shenkman

my deepest sympathy to the laucius family. i had the pleasure of working with fred when he was a resident, then chief resident of oncology at jefferson hospital, long time ago. saw him once since then when he did me a great favor by seeing my sister for her ca recurrence. i never forgot nor ever will forget him. as mentioned before, he was brilliant, funny, kind, quirky, and humble. i forgot about his military service, he would not talk about it, no surprize he was awarded 2 medals. i feel fortunate to have known him, he was a special person. sincerely yours.

Goodbye Uncle Fred. You were a great man, and even though I unfortunately never did live close to see you on a regular basis, I cannot say how blessed I am with so many great memories of our times together when I did visit the Delaware Valley.
I will always remember the common interests we had in music, movies, and food, and will always remember how well you would cut the meat when I was fortunate enough to visit for Christmas at the family Christmas gatherings at Uncle David and Aunt Beth's house.
While we will always miss you here on earth, we take comfort in knowing that you are happy in Heaven with your amazing parents, Grandma Lucy and Pop-pop Joe as I always called them, as well as your amazing brother, my Uncle Richard.
Thanks for being such an awesome uncle. We will all miss your warmth and humor. I will see you again when my time to leave this earth comes, whenever that time may be.
