We were so sorry to learn of Joe's
death.
We were happy to have seen him last year and to have the pleasure of meeting you at Jim Kendrick's viewing.
We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

Joe gave me two volumes of Francis Parkman, among several other books, which I will always cherish even more. I find these histories an invaluable reference as I move around the North American continent and will always be indebted to Joe for sharing the insights of Parkman. I'll miss his political viewpoints which closely match my own. May he rest in peace.
