I remember Joe from Disston grade school & Lincoln High. Always upbeat & joking around, every one liked & respected Joe. I ran into Joe again about 20 years ago, he remembered me and still made me laugh as he did so many years ago. I will always remember Joe, he was and will always be a class act.

A kind, good-hearted person and a wonderful husband and father. My heart goes out to Jaclyn, Clare, and family. I'm truly sorry for your loss, and you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Clare, Jaclyn and Johnny,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Joe was a wonderful person, always smiling and never had a bad word to say about anyone. I never knew anyone who laughed and smiled like him, he was one of a kind. He was loved by everyone in my family, and everyone is so saddened by his sudden death. I have lots of memories of him and they will be in my heart forever.
R.I.P. my dear Brother-in-law.

Clare and the Whitaker Family,

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of "Joey Whit". My memories of the family out back of my house go all the way back. Joey always made me smile and had so many people who loved and admired him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as I vacation with my own. I'm sorry that I can't be there to offer a hug or a handshake along with my personal condolences. Jaclyn's message is beautful and tugs at my heartstrings!

From my own experience of losing someone suddenly who is so close to you there are no words I could say to ease the pain. I have some great memories of "Joey" as we grew up together. I will cherish those memories. You can always find laughter in them. My deepest sympathy to you, your children and family.

Jaclyn,
A light is from my household gone, a voice I loved is stilled, a place is vacant in my home which never can be filled. God gave me a beautiful father - a father who never grew old, you were always there with a helping hand, help me now to accept His plan. I miss you now, my heart is sore, as time goes by I will miss you more, your loving smile, your gentle face, no one can take my "father’s place".

Clare, Jaclyn and Johnny,

There are no words to express how sad I am with Joe's passing. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone he ever knew or touched in any way. I know how much he loved you guys...hold on to that and keep him close. His most important job is at hand now and that is to watch over you, Jaclyn, Johnny and all those he knew and loved. I have felt it a privilege and honor to have known Joe and I will always treasure the memories of him. You hang in there cuz...because now there is one more angel to watch over all of you. Always remember also, that I am here for you guys anytime day or night.

Love you,

July 24, 2011

Clare,
Nothing can fill the void that Joe's passing leaves to you and Johnny and Jaclyn. You have been there for so many of us and now it is time for us to be there for you. Joe was a fine man. Hold him in your heart and we will all hold you in ours.
