JULIUS, Oct. 2, 2005; husband of Justice Sandra Schultz Newman; father of Jonathan Newman, Nancy Marcus Newman, David Newman and his partner Myra Groff; grandfather of Shane, Julian, Jonathan Jr., and Leigh Newman; brother of Dr. Louis Newman, and Dr. Pershing Newman and the late Dr. Samuel Newman; brother-in-law of Mark Schultz, Susie Slott Schultz, and Libby Newman Feldman and Elena Newman; uncle of Neena Slott Schultz and Michael Slott Schultz. Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services, Friday 12 Noon precisely, at Har Zion Temple, 1500 Hagys Ford Rd., Penn Valley PA Int. Haym Salomon Memorial Park. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Drexel University College of Medicine for the Julius Newman Neurodegenerative Research Fund, C/O Robert Schwartzman M.D., Dept. of Neurology, Mail Stop 423, 245 N. 15th St., Phila. PA 19102.

Dearest Sandy and family, Herb and I were so very very saddened to read of Jules' passing. You two were so very generous and gracious to me during my many years of working for you, and I will never forget his uncanny ability to join wit and wisdom, as well as his incredible joie di vivre. Our sincerest sympathies to you and the boys and their families, and know in your heart that Jules' spirit and legacy will live on in the many, many lives that he brightened and improved with his skill and heart. Dear Sandy & Family'
I met Jules in November 1951. We both worked for Sydney Kowit Kosher Caterer. I was with Jules many times, both at work and we used to meet in Mitten Hall at Temple. He was a great person, what I like to call a real "Mensch". When my wife Sandy, and I were engaged in Feb. 1954, Jules was the Headwaiter. I would have no one else. We are living in La Jolla since 1972, but I have folowed his career in the Inquirer and the Exponent. He was the first vegetarian that I ever met. I don't know if he continued that life style. He was the best I have ever seen at carving a Turkey. I was in the food business for 50 years and have been on many cruises. He was a real artist. He set the most beautiful and efficient buffets.
I just wanted to share a little about a wonderful person that some of the family would not know. He will surely be missed by many.
