Karen and I formed an alliance when working at Beverly Hills Middle School through the club Varied Voices. We connected with and supported students in non traditional ways. Karen was an advocate for ALL students, and we had many many special and meaningful experiences during those years. The heart to heart talks, the laughter, the partnership, are precious memories to me. I too remember celebrating at the Willows and Karen's grace and humor as we ran through the rain.
To her cherished children - she was a bright light, I am forever grateful for our time together!

Karen and I(Bill) worked together at BH for many years. She was a professional educator who cared fiercely for HER kids!! Karen helped me see things from a different perspective and encouraged me to be the best teacher I could be! She will be dearly missed! Elisabeth-I hope you remember babysitting for our daughter Rebecca. She says hi and wishes you well.

I worked with Karen during her years of teaching at Beverly Hills Middle School. She was a tireless advocate for her students and fought for every"square foot" she could get them. I have fond memories of dancing at her 50th birthday party at Jack´s Fire House and celebrating Elizabeth´s wedding at the Willows, despite the mad dash in from unexpected rain. Karen´s knowledge of learning styles and adaptations were immeasurable benefits to our learning community. Her head of curls, twinkling eyes and side glances were her trademarks. She took great pride in the success of Fred´s research, but her children were her true pride and joys. She treasured each of you beyond measure. May your precious memories of you mother keep you close and bring you comfort.
