KATHLEEN POTKAI Obituary
KATHLEEN "KITTY" MARIE CUNNINGHAM POTKAI
Kitty was predeceased in death by her parents, Alvin Merle and Mary Margaret (Mayhew) Cunningham. Kitty is survived by her husband and the love of her life of 45 years, John. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Merleen Macdonald (Al) of PA and FL, Jo Ann Johnson (Russell) of PA and Dee Laverty of NJ; her sister-in-law, Susan Boenau (Terry) of VA; her only niece, Lauren Boenau; her eight nephews, Jeffrey and Matt Macdonald, Zach, Austin and Harry Laverty, Adam and Kevin Johnson and Brian Boenau. Kitty is also survived by 8 great nieces and nephews.
Kitty graduated from Bucknell University in 1967. She held various risk management positions at Glaxo Smith Kline, American Stores and retired in 2003 as VP of Risk Manage-ment from Aramark in Phila.
Memorial donations to Safe Harbor of West Chester, 20 N. Matlock St., West Chester PA 19380 or Good Works, Inc., 544 Lincoln Hwy, Coatesville PA 19320.
John would like to invite former colleagues and friends to a Celebration of Life on Sat., Aug. 19, 2017, from 12 to 3 P.M., at their home, 994 Baneswood Dr., Kennett Square PA 19348. RSVP ONLY to Kitty's sister, Merleen Macdonald at

I first met Kitty in 1974 when she carried her husband John through his law school days in Miami. That was indeed fortunate for me since John carried me through my first year of law school. Kitty was the greenest thumb I ever met, fond of crazy Persian cats with Japanese names, and an overall calming influence on agitated young lawyers in waiting (me).
I was sorry to hear of Kitty's passing. I know it is a great loss for all of her family to whom she was devoted.
