When my daughter and Keith were in grade school together, I thought that Keith was the most adorable and precious little boy. He reminded me of my son...lovable, small in stature, entertaining, with an independent nature. On occasions as the years went by, when I would see Maureen at the office or in the neighborhood, I was always pleased to hear about Keith's accomplishments or progress, and as a parent could also relate to the stories of difficult times, but remained forever hopeful that one day Keith would find his niche in life, and experience the happiness and inner contentment that he truly deserved. I was thrilled to have had the opportunity to see Keith again (grown up and then a father)at a family Christmas party, which was the last time I saw him...
I believe that for most parents their greatest fear would be to lose a child. There are no appropriate words of consolation, there is only faith - faith that he has been summoned to dwell with the Lord, to serve in a greater capacity in his new home, as he helps to prepare the way for all of us. It was love that brought Keith into this world, and it was because of God's LOVE for all mankind, that he gave his "only begotten son so that we could have eternal life." In my heart I have faith that Keith has found his niche, as he is enveloped in God's love, just as he was unconditionally loved here on earth.
My belief is as follows:
"It is only for a time that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart. I won't be far away, for life goes on. So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near, and if you listen with your heart you'll hear, all my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and say...Welcome Home.
With Love,
Paula

Marks the 27th anniversary of my third child’s entrance into this world, a boy, 7 lbs 11 oz. We named him Keith. Keith’s existence sparked new joy into the lives of his family. From his earliest years, he harnessed incredible energy and a magnificent imagination & with his delightful creativity, one never knew what to expect when he entered a room. He always managed to evoke a chuckle from each and every one of us as he pretended to be a famous superhero or fabulous superstar. He was a charming little boy was quite magical at times!
As he moved from early childhood into adolescence, he clung to his free spirit and a determination that was second to none. He created his own path in life. Far from a mundane existence, Keith chartered a unique course that catapulted him into a downward spiral. Young adulthood was a roller coaster ride complete with minor triumphs and major tragedies.

Marks the eve of the 3 week departure of my son, from this world.
Tomorrow, he would have been 27 years young.
I will forever wish for the warmth of his smile,
I will forever recall the sound of his voice, calling me ‘mom’
I will forever miss his handsome face and piercing eyes.
I will forever want to hold his hand “just one more time”
I will forever love and long for my son.

Dear Keith,
As a young kid, I've always looked up to you. Whether you were playing me songs on your electric guitar, telling me tales about invisible creatures who lived under mom-mom's stairs, or playing super-heroes with me, you were always considered a mentor. As the years went on and we got older, I saw you less and less. I constantly wondered when our paths would cross again. I was hardly prepared for our next meeting. I never thought I'd have to see you in that condition. Afterall, I just want you to know that throughout the years you have never left my thoughts and you will NEVER leave my heart.

Dear Keith, It broke my heart to see you go, but now you`re in a better place. I wish you knew how greatly you affected the people around you. You were so gifted with talent, but didn`t know how to put it to use.You were a free spirit, and though you didn`t always do the right thing, you had a good heart and people genuinely liked you. Keith, I love you and I`ll miss you always. Dad

Still a beautiful child in many of our eyes -- so much fun. Keith's heart may have beat to the tune of a different drummer but he'll often be remembered for his love of music and sharing the joy that laughter and a simple smile can bring. So, heard a different drummer... sure, but that was Keith. Anything ordinary just wouldn't do! Lots of love extended to all.
