Schwartz Kenneth Kenneth Schwartz, 88, of Milton, DE, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Born on July 27, 1937, in Philadelphia, Kenneth served in the U.S. Navy, then in the Philadelphia Police Department, where he retired as a staff inspector. He was an avid reader and a fan of the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers, and he loved to make people laugh. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Wurtz) Schwartz; his son, Addam (Ann) Schwartz of Philadelphia, PA; his daughter, Mimi Bergmann of Philadelphia, PA; his stepson, William Talbot of Lewes, DE; and his stepdaughter, Michelle (Jack) Donio of Buena, NJ. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his brother, Barry Schwartz, and his sister, Aileen Kline. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at PARSELL FUNERAL HOMES and CREMATORIUM, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, at 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, where family and friends may visit at 10 A.M. Chapel committal services will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. As the Phillies were wrapping up the 1980 World Series I was assigned to the 12th District and detailed to Vets Stadium for game 6. Inspector Schwartz came along with his radio man and grabbed me and my partner along with some other cops detailed inside the Vet. He told us to follow him and continued down to the basement floor where the Phillies locker room was, we went inside and he told us I don't know about you guys but I'm getting autographs as he picked up a baseball. I immediately picked up a program and started getting as many autographs as I could. The only ones I didn't get was Greg Luzinski and Steve Carlton. I still tell that story today, it was memorable.

So sorry to learn of Ken's passing. Although I hadn't seen him or had any contact with him for years, I do recall the "olden days" when he would come to the DA's Office in City Hall and we would work together on the homicide cases then to be tried. He always smiled and had a great disposition.
Again, sorry for your loss.
