Kevin Dunleavy Obituary

DUNLEAVY
COL. KEVIN W. DUNLEAVY, USAF Ret, Desert Storm Vet., beloved husband of Linda (nee Brizinski), father of Colum (USMC) and Tara of Suffolk VA, died at age 51, Sun. Jan 28 at Johns Hopkins, Baltimore MD, where he hoped to receive a heart transplant. He was born in the Bronx NY on Aug. 2, 1955 and graduated from Springfield H.S. (DelCo) in 1973. He was commissioned in the USAF after graduating Allentown College in 1978. During his 28 years in the USAF, he was known as an expert in fighter tactics, Command & Control, and Air War Planning. His final post was Requirements Branch Chief, USJFCOM J7 at Langley AFB.
Kevin is also survived by brother, Brian; mother, Vera, both of Chesapeake VA, and sister, Jackie Dunleavy-Boyle of Drexel Hill PA. He is predeceased by father John and brother Columb. A Funeral Mass will be at Langley AFB, Feb. 2, at 1 P.M. Interment Arlington Nat'l Cem. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust at DAV Memorial Program, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati OH 45250 or www.dav.org.
