LACHLAN, 91. Beloved husband of the late Jean Horigan, passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, in his home in Bryn Athyn PA. Survived by his children, Lark Walter, Fawn Ferguson, Scot Pitcairn and Beth Jewell; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
After serving his country in WWII, he returned to Bryn Athyn and engaged in church and community uses for the rest of his life. He began a career with the Pitcairn Trust Company until his retirement in 1986. His name became synonymous with music in this area as a well-known patron of musical organizations who supported many individuals in their musical careers. Friends are invited to the Service at Bryn Athyn Cathedral, 900 Cathedral Road, Bryn Athyn PA, on Friday, September 20, at 4 P.M., special music starting at 3:15 P.M. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Curtis Institute of Music, 1726 Locust St., Phila. PA 19103 or ANC-Glencairn, PO Box 708, Bryn Athyn PA 19009: Lach Pitcairn Music Fund.

On behalf of Spain92 my sincerest condolences to Mr. Pitcairn's family and friends. Although I know Mr. Pitcairn for only a few year's, I admire Him... it was my pleasure serving him... it was a truly honor play my Pipes at Glencairn...

God bless you Mr. Pitcairn. I loved working with you and Mrs. Pitcairn even for a short time. The children were young and beautiful and I enjoyed and adored them immensely.
