LAWRENCE DOYLE Obituary

DOYLE LAWRENCE A. Lawrence A. Doyle, son of the late Bernard and Catherine, was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 9, 1933. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 24, 2025, at the age of 92. Lawrence was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Jeanne, who died eight months prior. He was the loving father of Jeannie (Michael) O'Neill, Nancy Doyle (Chris Beggy), Carolyn (Jon) Bjornson, Marie (Bob) Torkelson, and Lawrence Jr. (Liz) Doyle; cherished grandfather of Jeannie, Jacqueline, Michael, Lauren, Ryan, Luke, Richard, Maya, Jon, Sonja, Claudia, Ret, Lily, Trey, Patrick, Quinn and great-grandfather of Brooks, Beau, Jack and Wesley. Lawrence is survived by his brother, James, and was preceded in death by Ellen, Thomas, Catherine, Bernard, Harry, Sister Amedee L.S.P. (Regina), John, Mary, Joseph, Loretta, Theresa and Ave. He was uncle to 51 nieces and nephews. Lawrence was known by several names including Larry, Gump and most endearingly Poppy. Larry attended Most Blessed Sacrament (MBS) grade school and West Catholic High School for Boys, never missing a day of school in 12 years. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army, retired from Bell Telephone and later worked as a property manager at Preferred Real Estate. Larry will mostly be remembered for living his faith and devotion to family, never missing important events in his children's or grandchildren's lives. He enjoyed cheering for the Phillies, Eagles, Notre Dame and St. Joseph Prep football. Poppy will be fondly remembered as a second father, role model and natural creator of fun through the countless lives he touched. Family and friends are invited to his Visitation from 9:30 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at Our Lady of the Assumption, 35 Old Eagle School Road, Strafford, PA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. Luncheon immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lawrence's memory to The Little Sisters of the Poor, Holy Family Home, 5300 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19143-4929. littlesistersofthe poorphiladelphia.org (O'LEARY FH www.olearyfuneral.com)

Marie. What a special note for Larry. Didn´t realize he was in the US Army. Love his nicknames Gump and Poppy. Love hearing your stories with your dad and your mom. Sadly cannot be there in person but once again sending our prayers and condolences to you and family. Much love-Seena
