LEE SWINGLE

1932 - 2021

SWINGLE LEE M. Passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021. She resided in Bryn Mawr for many years, prior to relocating to Brandywine Estates in Haverford, PA. Born on December 19, 1932, Lee grew up in Alpena, Michigan, on a successful dairy and Christmas tree farm. The youngest of four, she was a very accomplished student and played the drums. She won a scholarship to Michigan State, for "Best Looking Legs" in a beauty contest. It was there she met her future husband, Clinton D. Swingle. They had two daughters, Susan and Elizabeth. Lee was a talented Interior Designer and avid reader. She loved to garden, adored caring for her animals and always enjoyed a good political debate. Earlier in life, she played a lot of tennis, shot skeet and trained two National Field Trial Champions, (Labrador Retrievers) on a farm in the Lehigh Valley. Lee was the beloved mother of Susan L. Podgor (David A.) and Elizabeth A. Collings (Charles P.). Devoted grandmother to Katharine E. (Podgor) Bradford (Scott) and David Alexander Podgor (Weslee), great grandmother to Chip and Penny Bradford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal shelter of your choice or simply pet your favorite furry friend and remember Lee.
