LICIA "LEE" ALLMAN Obituary

ALLMAN LICIA "LEE" (nee Tinari) Of Bryn Mawr, PA and formerly of West Chester, PA and the Overbrook section of Philadelphia, passed away on September 27, 2025 at the age of 95. She was born in the Abruzzo region of Italy on February 18, 1930, and emigrated to the United States in 1937. Her family settled in West Philadelphia, where she attended West Catholic High School for Girls and received her bachelor's degree from Rosemont College in 1953. She worked in medical research for many years before marrying her late husband, Robert G. Allman, Esquire, who predeceased her. She is also predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Emilia Tinari, and one brother, Dino Tinari. She is survived by many family members, including her devoted sons, Robert (Michele), Vincent (Kara), Richard, and Lee (Annie), and her six (6) granddaughters, Nicole, Julia, Georgie, Derby, Chloe Arden and Sydney along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her two younger brothers, Nino Tinari (Carol) and Veny Tinari (Betty). Known to her family and friends as "Saint" Lee, she was selflessly devoted to her family and their friends. No one left her table hungry, without a warm smile, or without receiving an act of generosity and kindness. She rarely missed her sons and grandchildren's sporting events and was a gracious host for many parties during the decades. As her late husband was blind, she was his eyes as they navigated the years, raising their four sons and supporting him in his vocation as an attorney. Often known to keep extra ice cream in the freezer for neighborhood kids and extra biscuits for neighborhood dogs, her home knew no strangers. Her family, friends, and neighbors will greatly miss the welcoming ambience of opera music, a cup of coffee, and an interesting conversation that was always promised at her table. Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing, Friday evening, October 3rd, 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the D'ANJOLELL MEMORIAL HOME OF BROOMALL, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 4th, at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 6301 Woodbine Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19151. Interment Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Licia's honor to her alma mater, West Catholic Preparatory High School at 4501 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19139 - Give Now - West Catholic High School or Academy of Vocal Arts Philadelphia, dedicated to training and supporting opera singers - Support Us | Academy of Vocal Arts.
