Joseph F. 'Joey' Cugini III Newfield, N.J. Joseph F. "Joey" Cugini III, 59, of Newfield, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2018, and is now home with the Lord. Joey was an outstanding football player at Delsea High School. He was awarded "Most Popular" and "Class Flirt" the year he graduated in 1977. Joey was selected for the Area All Star Team, a tri-county football league, two years in a row. After graduating, Joey opened Joey's Brownstone in Franklin Twp. in 1979. Joey's Brownstone was a popular nightclub/bar that brought great memories to those in the area. That's where he met his wife, Lori, the mother of his three children, Shauna and Joseph F. Cugini IV. Joey also worked numerous years in the car business, and at one point he had a used car lot of his own. Joey was a true entrepreneur. He had a brilliant mind, the ability to think out of the box and a contagious laugh. Joey could lighten the mood in any room and was incredibly generous. He was known to help the homeless and would give to anyone in need. He is survived by his children, Shauna Cugini and Joseph Cugini IV; his mother, Mary Bess (Fry) Brentari; father, Joseph Cugini Jr.; two grandchildren, Alicia and Gianna Monserrate; sisters, Betsy Ronchetti (Mark) and Stephanie Terista (Tim), and many wonderful nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Joey was predeceased by his brother, Richard Cugini. A funeral home gathering will be on Tuesday from 1 to 2pm followed by a service at 2pm. Final Disposition will be private.
