Lon Homeier Obituary

Homeier Lon Williams Of Bryn Mawr, died February 23, 2022. Lon was born in Cleveland in 1927, and grew up in Akron, OH. After graduating from Governor's Academy in Byfield, MA, he served in the US Navy, and graduated from Williams College in 1950. He then served in the US Air Force as a Finance Officer. His professional career spanned Shawmut Bank and UBS. Beekeeping, hand-thrown pottery, fly fishing, a Mexican stamp collection, piloting gliders and power planes, and bringing levity to all who would listen were just a few of his hobbies. Lon served on many boards and committees including the Glacier National Park Conservancy, the Governor's Commission on Prisons, and First Book. Married for 71 years to the love of his life, Jean Gries Homeier, Lon and Jean had 3 children. Lynn (Phil), Ted (Joan), and Ann. Survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lon and Jean Homeier Scholarship Fund, Williams College, 75 Park Street, Williamstown, MA 02167.
