Let us hope that Mark's inner light has found peace in the heavens!

Mark Toll and his wife Grace had been members of a long-standing book club in East Oak Lane. Many years ago they lived in East Oak Lane in a wonderful large rambling Tudor home that was filled with thousands of great books. I got to know both of them since they were in the club and were both former librarians. I have been a Librarian myself. Mark had special gifts including a critical insight into literature and writing that was extraordinary. He could cut to the chase quicker than anyone in the club to get to the heart of any story or writer's thesis. He also had a lyric singing voices and entertained our club on special occasions with fine singing - short lyrical pieces.
I respected him because he helped another member of our club Seymour Meyer, a holocaust survivor from Hungary, write his autobiography (in two volumes). The book written was excellent and the story told would not have been shared with the world without Mark Toll's special abilities.
His wife Grace was also a writer and artist. Together they had a wonderful life together. They are both missed greatly.

I met mark at olli and enjoyed sitting next to him at our short story class. He was a bright, sensitive and sweet man. His interpretations of stories showed wisdom and deep feeling. It was an honor to know him even though it was for a short time
