Hi Gloria:
I think about Marty alot and he was my first employer as you remember. He was generous to a tee and alway had that loving glint in his eye. A real gentle giant and an inspiration to me. He was soft spoken and patient and always took the high ground of treating even his adversaries kindly.
I think about him much. He was from an era where doctors were colleagues and friends. This is something that he and I discussed very recently- something that is gone now and even more so with Marty's passing.
It is nice to know that there is a good Neurosurgeon in heaven who will watch over my late wife, brother and daughter...
Love,

I was so sad to learn today that a wonderful person and talented physician and surgeon passed on. Yes, he put me back together after a motor vehicle accident when my car was hit from behind. I am 47 years old and have known his family for 43 year (yes, I was 4 years old). Dr. Swiecicki was not only my physician, but a dear friend who I lost touch with after his retirement. My family and I extend our deepest sympathies to Gloria and the rest of his family. I hope that they find comfort by knowing that he touched so many lives in so many wonderful ways.

I recieved s note from a dear friend and physician that really touched me so I wanted to share this with everyone. It kind of sums up Marty's professional life.
" To experience the man and the medicine of the man was truly special for me. Medicine should always be, forever special like this doctor made it. His way shall always be inside me guiding me to do what is right."

Dear Mrs. Swiecicki and Family,
Dr. Swiecicki has truly changed our life by the surgery he performed on George. His knowledge and skills were unbelievable. His bedside manner was unforgettable, he always had a smile on the ready and a great sense of humor.
Dr. S. was a wonderful and kind man whom we truly will miss.
May your family pull together during this time of pain, and comfort each other with happy memories and the knowledge that you were blessed to have him in your lives.
We are so very sorry for your loss.
Truly,
Mr.& Mrs. George Kline Jr.

Dear Gloria, today is exactly one month since Martin passed away. The news have fallen on us as an avalanche of stones. He looked to us immortal as all great people do.He was one of the first who developed" the suction of the nucleus pulposus procedure" in patients with spinal disc herniation /or whatever is the official name of this operation /.He performed this surgery on my wife Anna, who was almost paralysed, with spectacular results. We always remember You,your visit to our house was one of the happiest days of our life.I believe there is a special place in heaven for great physicians....Words escape me,but what can be said about events like that ?....
Please, contact us whenever you feel the need. Our email is,< L. [email protected]>

It is impossible to share my memories of Dr Martin Swiecicki in a few words but I will try. I worked for him for over 20 years as his office manager. During this time I got to know him and his family and got to share in many events with them. He was so generous and helpful to me and my family. Several of my children worked for him. When my husband Jim had a terrible medical situation occur, he was the one I called for emergency advice and assistance. He put his own reputation on the line standing up for Jim, demanding proper care for him. Dr Sw (as I always called him) was the one you could count on to tell you the truth about medical situations and care providers. I am glad he did not have to leave this world on any other terms than his own. He made it clear through the years his desires in that regard. Even though we have a very great loss here on this earth, I am sure he is at peace in Heaven, since his work here is finished.
My love and sympathies to Gloria, Marty, Diane, Annette, Karen, Sheryl and Shirley.
Thanks Dr Sw for contributing so much to my life and to my family. It would have been so different if my path had taken a different direction and not via Neurosurgical Associates of SJ, P.A.
Note to Dr Sw who I am sure is keeping an eye on us down here: Tell Jim that he is about to have another new grandson, Tyler James, Nicole is the mom. He'd be so proud, just as you were as a grandpa.

God uses people to do his miraculous works. Dr. Swiecicki was definately used by God (over and over again!) to do miracles on my mother. Most people will pray to God to give their Doctor wisdom before surgery, however, few people have the joy of praying with their Doctor on the night before surgery. Dr. Swiecicki was such a blessing and comfort to our family for so many years. He will be missed by the countless lives that he saved. His time on earth was not wasted or selfishly used; instead, he was a valuable vessel used by God's great hands.

My Mom had been a patient of many of doctors, but I have never heard her talk so fondly of a physician as she did of Dr. Swiecicki. I was very young when he operated on my mother and saved her life, but I will always remember her saying what a wonderful man he was and how he was such a blessing to our family. I remember her saying what a beautiful bedside manner he had which would put her and my dad at ease as they entrusted her life into his (and God's) hands. That is part of the reason I chose to go to nursing school when I "grew up"! :) He will be sadly missed by more people than you will ever imagine as he touched so many lives!

Dear Mrs. Swiecicki, I send my sympathy and prayers for you and your family. I never knew Dr. Swiecicki, but I was a patient of his brother, Alan, and my sister was a patient of your husband's. She has never had anything but praise for him, both personally and professionally. His medical skill surely saved her life, and saved our family much grief, and we will forever be grateful. His compassion and friendship helped her to survive an extremely difficult time in her life. Now I hope this little thank you note will help you in this desperately lonely time in your life.

I feel a very deep loss as Dr Swiecicki was very dear to me. I guess because he saved my life a few times and I put my life in his hands (his and God's). But this man is the one that held the knife and had the wisdom to do what he had to do to go around the nerves in my neck to save my vision, my heart and my lungs and my life!
I hung onto life a few times by just a thread and I will always be grateful to him for what he did to me and for my family. He was a very good surgeon and kind as can be. At night he would come into my hospital room week after week with that smile on his face that I don't think I will ever forget, and spend hours just talking to me and giving me hope that I would recover and once again be able to be the wife and mother I was before becoming ill. It took years but we all were able to see that he was right before he retired. I know I will see him again in Heaven and that will be a nice reunion someday.
For those that knew Dr Swiecicki I am sure you can relate to this note very well. For those of you that never met him, you missed out on meeting a very nice man and a fabulous Doctor but I am sure you have heard me speak of him fondly throughout the years. He will be missed by many and definitely by Conrad and myself.
My Sympathy to Gloria and Karen and to the other members of family.

I have many fond, happy memories of my cousin Marty. My fondest recollections are his sharing in a summer of activities at Buckskin Camp in Maine, his being the Raider
mascot at his alma mater Colgate University's football games, the fun we five cousins (Marty, Alan, David, George, and me) had at family gatherings at his parents' Barrington and later Haddon Heights
homes. Among many others. I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of your, our loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May the years you were fortunate to spend with this very special person and the many happy memories of him bring comfort to you. Today and always.

Cousin Marty and I of late have not had much contact but we spent much time in early childhood and college together. I will sorely miss him and extend my heartfelt sympathy to his entire family. George
