I can't tell you an exact date when I met Mary. What I can tell you for sure is, I met Mary when she started dating Kevin. Kevin and I met as freshmen at Widener University in 1977. Please know that Kevin and I have stayed close since our time at Widener, across all those years, to this day. Of course, that means I had the privilege of staying close with Mary, too. Fast forward to about 1 year ago. They were out driving, maybe out in the country. I pictured Kevin driving and Mary reclined in her seat, holding the phone that was on speaker. We were laughin' and jokin'...not laughing and joking....laughin' and jokin'. I could hear Mary laughin' in the background. That was the standard when we spoke. Kevin and I would bust each other's chops, Mary would chime in and it would go until one of us really had to get off the phone. This conversation was gettin' to that point, windin' down. We were sayin' our good byes and Mary half shouts, "We love you Dales!" That was the last time I actually spoke with her. I had not thought about this until I got the news that she had passed. The last thing that I ever heard from that beautiful person with that South Philly twang was, "We love you...". You have always been one of a kind who found another one of a kind to share your life with. I love you, I am sorry you are gone, rest in peace. As I said to Kevin earlier today. "There ain't nobody gettin' in ta Heaven faster than Mary Clinton!"
