MARY B. "MIMI" age 51, of Rose Valley passed away peacefully on July 18, 2012. Mary was the daughter of the late James J. Haffey and Helen Burke of Philadelphia. She had a passion for life, which included keeping close relation-ships with family and friends, world traveling, "the arts", volunteer work and her profession in pharmaceutical research. She graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. Her illustrious career began in the pharmacy on the 3rd floor of Jefferson Hospital, Mary then became part of the Jefferson Home Infusion team. Her next move was to Astra Zeneca, she became part of their research science team, her career culminated with Shire Pharm-aceuticals where she continued her love of research science. She was well respected in her field. Mary had that calm, steady, quietly-composed manner about her that got results. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her siblings; Carole Haffey (John Carpitella) and Bob Haffey (Pye). Also loved by her nephews and nieces; Robert, Kevin, James, Liam, Maureen and Eve. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Sunday August 5, 2012 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Rose Valley Old Mill, 9 Old Mill Lane, Rose Valley, PA 19063. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name may be made to "Special Needs Fund - Abramson Cancer Center" Development Office 3535 Market St., Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104.

Mary was a true gift to all she touched. A gracious and wonderful spirit. Prayers and thoughts to Mary's very special family. We struggle each day wondering why she had to leave us so soon. Mary, you live forever in our hearts and will never be far away.
