So sorry to hear of your mother's death Jack in New York passed it on to us. You may be wondering who the Monahans in Vancouver, Canada are. Our grandmother was Bridget McGovern. Mary sounds like a great lady. We did meet Bridie and Elizabeth in 1973 when they came out to Vancouver and met Jack in 2005 in New York. I also met Jack and Anne in New York in 1959 and I've been to Drogheda several times and will go again in September, but sadly never met Mary. Take care - you are in our thoughts. Anne Monahan (there are 6 of us in and around Vancouver).

Mom,
I can't explain how much I will miss you. I remember how caring and loving you were. The times we shared laughter at your funny jokes. The encouragement you gave me as a young boy. It was you that bought me my first paper route when I was 8 years old. Your love of Jesus and the Blessed Mother inspired me to be an altar boy. You baked the best chocolate cakes in the world. You walked everywhere and your total miles were probably equal to walking at least once around the world. You raised 7 blessed children and I know how tough it was for you but you gutted it out and did a phenominal job. You loved Camden Catholic and Holy Name schools. You loved our POP and you did your best for him as you were there always in his last days. Life was not a picnic for you as you were always cooking, washing clothes, buying clothes, scrubbing floors, steps, washing blinds, nursing those of us who happened to be sick and many countless other things. Mom, I always loved you so very much and thank you for everything. I am happy that Our Lord finally took you home. The Alzeimers that you suffered through took you away from us. Now you are in Heaven with all those who loved you and went before you. Until we meet again I will never, ever stop thinking and loving you. Thank you Lord for giving me my wonderful mother, Mary Laxton. Your loving son, Fred

paternal Uncle Michael P. McGovern of Ballinamore, County Leitrim, Ireland and his lovely bride from Ireland, Margaret. She was well loved by all. As they say in Ireland, her troubles are over, Thank God.
With greatest sympathy,
