I often find myself thinking of him from time to time in the lab, usually when someone complains about having to do dishes by hand. Matt always joked about getting a dishwasher (either a person or a machine) to do his, as he disliked having to clean them by hand... I miss him, I miss his playful nature, he was fun to be around.

You can't pick your relatives but we would have picked Matt to be one of ours. I didn't know Matt that well but he married our sweet and lovely Jill, so that was all we needed to consider him family.
After reading all of the wonderful tributes posted, I feel as if I know him a little better and wish I could have shared a lunch with him. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend whose life has been cut short but never forgotten. He made Jill very happy and she was blessed to have shared a special love with him. I know he will be a guardian angel who watches over his beautiful family for eternity. I pray that Jill finds the strength and courage to continue with the beautiful life they built in his honor.
Love, Aunt Diane

I did not work with Matt, but had the opportunity to have lunch with him on many occasions and between Matt and Carol I could not stop laughing. All I can say is look out heaven!! When that time comes I will be looking for that lunch table with Matt in heaven. I pray that Jill and the children find peace that passes all understanding.
Peace be with you Matt and your family,
Kim Tortella

One day all senior managers decided they needed to know more about the products and that somebody in the lab should show them how to bake different breads. I thought we will get away with half an hour of baking, maybe another half an hour of testing. Not with Matt- he was the baker in charge. He forced us to spend the whole day in the bakery, to actually get our hands into the dough, bake the bread, take care of the ovens, cut the bread and explain the process. I will never forget his determination, his sense of humor, and his passion. A genuine, kind, smart, brave young man, far too early gone to a better world. God bless you soul, Matt!

Matthew,

You smile and sense of humor will be sorely missed!
I know you are entertaining the angels now!

Jill,

Matt really loved you and the children. I am praying for you and for them. I pray that JESUS carries you through this very very sad time and I pray a day will come when you will feel more joy in Matt's memories than grief and sadness.

Love,
Jane Strauss

I know that we, here at Puratos, will miss him greatly! My sincerest condolences and prayers to his family at this difficult time!

Ivy and I will truly miss you Matt. As his boss, I can honestly say that having Matt work for me was truly a pleasure. He made laugh often, and he worked very hard for me. His creativity was greatly appreciated and I will miss him dearly.

Matt - May your wings in heaven spread joy and happiness to all you care for, and God bless your sole.

Matt
I am so sorry for what you have gone through. You always made us laugh at lunch. You were so crazy. You loved your hot stuff. GOD must have other plans for you. I pray that Jill and the children get through this trying time. My heart felt prayers go out to you and your family.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Matt's entire family. I had the pleasure of working with Matt at Puratos and I can certainly say that he had a huge impact on alot of the people at our office. My fondest memory of Matt was at lunch one day when he called me the "first lady" he said I deserved to be called that because I worked for the President of the company. We all laughed at that and I will never forget that. I will also remember all of the baking that Matt did for our employee meeting. He was so proud to stand up there in front of his colleagues and talk about the treats that he made. Matt will be missed by alot of people, however I feel a great amount of pride because I had the pleasure to know him.
