Uncle Matt - Words cannot describe my relationship with him. We had a special relationship and I am the only niece that can say Uncle Matt saved my life twice(as he often, lovingly, reminded me). I will cherish our relationship the rest of my life and will always consider Uncle Matt my second father. Uncle Matt you will be sadly missed by everyone but I know you are at peace and reunited with Aunt Claire, all of your siblings and in-laws. Please give all of the "elders" a kiss for me, check on Dad for me and enjoy the family "reunion".

Jerry, Madge and Matthew:

I can only express my deepest sympathies to you all. Uncle Matt was special to myself and my sisters. He will truly be missed.

Now that all of the "Elders" have left us, we can only wonder what kind of party they are having in Heaven!

When I think of Uncle Matt I have to smile because he always had a smile on his face and that mischievious glint in his eye. Oh, what a tease.

Looking back at my childhood, I realize just how much my aunts and uncles were a part of my life. I remember the summer parties in our back yard, the mummers strut, Christmas visits and our family reunions at Christine and Don's house. These were great times filled with laughter. To the Torpey side of my family- Thanks for the Memories. I'll miss you all.

The one thing I will always remember about Uncle Matt was his wonderful sense of humor. After being in his company your spirit was always uplifted. I know he will keep them smiling in heaven.

Uncle Matt was a wonderful role model to me when I was growing up. I am very sad Uncle Matt's death is also is the passing of a wonderful generation of family who influenced me deeply during my formative years.

All of us who are the older cousins can recall the closeness this family had, where we cousins saw each other regularly, went to the same schools, and grew up with a legacy of family cohesiveness. For me, it was a wonderful time to be growing up, and I am so happy to have such wonderful memories.
