Any and every thought about Mike begins with his smile, still bright and vivid in my mind's eye. Mike's love for his family / friends, his personal integrity, compassion to help others along life's course, he wore all of this like a red rose in his lapel. He definitely had an edge on what mattered. He possessed an unwavering quest for justice. Mike was one half. With him all the way was Alice. Smiling, chuckling, making sure everyone had tushi and fresh squezzed orange juice. Together they had a deep, solid love affair, founded on mutual respect. Communicators, they both knew where the other stood. He for her and her for him. When you have that type of understanding, you can laugh often together.
Yes, I know that I won't be able to laugh with Mike, but like his son Michael, all those phone conversations that we had with him, we can pull up in our minds and enjoy them once again. I believe his daughter Kim will continue to meet with her Dad thru Nature. She has an eye for the unusual in flowers and her treasured Dad will make her eyes light up once again.
