MICHAEL MUZIO Obituary
MICHAEL J., JR. "MUZ"
Age 64, of Melbourne Beach, FL. Passed away on Nov. 11, 2018, in his home after a short battle with cancer. Michael was born on Sept. 9, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Michael and Eileen. He was a former trainer, jockey agent, and racing official. Michael worked in the racing office at the New York Racing Associa-tion for several years before retiring 2 years ago. Muzio trained horses for 23 years, winning 121 races from 1,447 starters. His horses earned $1,063,606, according to Equi-base statistics. Some of his top horses were Friday Knight, Heama Jac Mac, Bold Adonis, and Grab the Glory. He also worked as a jockey agent for Steve Capanas in 1988 when Capanas won the Eclipse Award as the nation's top apprentice jockey. He is survived by his life partner Karen Brady; step-son Jeremy Brady (Shannon); grandchildren Shane, Ella, Zachery Brady, and Michael Brady, Jr.; aunt Anne Murphy, and 4 cousins.

Muz grew up around the corner from me in Richmond Hill. He was a little league umpire when I was playing ball. Muz was someone us kids looked up to and later when he became a horse trainer we would head to the track and root for his horse. A real good guy RIP Muz.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to visit Mike and Karen a few weeks after they had bought their dream home in Florida. I have never seen Mike so calm and relaxed. Living by the ocean seem to have calmed his soul. Rest in peace Mike
