Mildred Soast Obituary

SOAST MILDRED THORP, died April 5, 2003 at the senior community Foulkeways at Gwynedd, PA; where she lived for the past 17 years. She was 97. Previously she and her late husband, Edwin Allen Soast, resided in Wyndmoor and before that in Chestnut Hill. She was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, a member of Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting and active as a volunteer with several organizations. She was a member of the board of directors of 2 homes for senior citizens in Germantown, The Pennsbury and Stapley Hall and a member of the Friends Hospital Ladies' Auxiliary in Frankford. She is survived by her children, Sally Soast Briggs of Norfolk CT, Marcia Soast of Collingswood NJ and E. Allen Soast of Demarest NJ; as well as 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. There will be a Memorial Service at 2 P.M., Saturday, May 3rd at Gwynedd Friends Meeting. Donations may be sent to the Foulkeways Stewardship Fund, 1120 Meetinghouse Rd., Gwynedd PA 19436 or American Friends Service Committee, 1515 Cherry St., Phila PA 19102.
