MONA ROSENFELD Obituary

ROSENFELD
MONA SUE (née Konell), 56, of Gladwyne PA, passed away on February 12, 2014, in her home. She was born on October 3, 1957 in Philadelphia PA.
Mona was the loving wife of Mark Rosenfeld, with whom she shared 31 years of marriage. She was the loving, caring, and devoted mother of Rachel Rosenfeld and husband John, and Danielle Rosenfeld and fiancé Jason. Dear sister of Faye Steele and husband Oscar, and Hedy Kahn. Her first priority was her family, putting time with family over all else. She also enjoyed playing tennis and was an excellent player. She loved to play with and coach her star tennis player, Danielle. Other pastimes included reading, travel with her family, and mahjong.
Early in her career, Mona was an Intensive Care Unit Nurse at Lankenau Medical Center, specializing in inhalation therapy. She then worked at Torre Menswear in manage-ment for 28 years. Her hard work ethic was unmatchable; her thriftiness exceptional and there was not anything she could not do. She was a brilliant woman who excelled in what-ever she put her mind to. She always had a positive outlook with lots of spunk and drive.
Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Sunday, 11:30 A.M., at GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS, 6410 N. Broad St. Int. Mt. Lebanon Cem. Shiva will be observed thru Monday evening at the late residence. The family requests contributions to the Melanoma Research and Patient Care Fund at Abramson Cancer Center at University of Pennsylvania. http://givingpages.upenn.edu/rememberingMona

Mona was not only a dear friend but an inspiration. On the tennis court, she was a fierce and fair competitor. I loved playing with and against her. However, tackling her illness with grace and determination brought my level of admiration to new heights. I loved Mona and am so happy that I was able to bring her joy these last few years through our mah jongg games. Her competitive spirit as her love for her family never wavered.
