I can still remember hearing of your sudden passing from your family.
You were always so gracious and kind to everyone.
Both Robert & Joseph adored you they always took their tuition payments directly to you in the office because I was told you were a true Crusader looking after the students every single day.
You always had a private conversation with both of them in your office.
They always told me as they handed over their payment receipts what you talked about each time. You encouraged both of them to do whatever they could in the FJHS community and cheered them on whatever club and/or sport they played.
Thanks to you both my sons were better young men in their lives and continued to be as they have their entire lives.

It's taken me a long time to be able to compose what I wanted to say here, but in in all honesty, I just realized how simple it really was. What I want to say is ....THANK YOU!!!..... THANK YOU to everyone who saw what I saw in my Godmother/cousin.
THANK YOU to everyone who made her the happy person she was. THANK YOU for making her "important" and "notable" in your lives. THANK YOU to those who took her advice and allowed her to make a difference in your life. THANK YOU for loving her for exactly who she was (although it wasn't hard) and most of all THANK YOU for letting her love every single one of you unconditionally. She wouldn't have it any other way! THANK YOU everyone for allowing my Godmother all of those things that made her who she was!

To the McCaffrey Family,
Dene - What a giant! What a winner! Look at her small physical size. She, with that small body had the biggest heart of anyone I ever knew. She spread love where ever she went and to all people who knew her.
I watched my godchild grow to be the woman she was. I wish I could tell you about all the happiness and love she gave throughtout her life on earth. I can just write some words to describe her: KIND, LOVING, GIVING, UNDERSTANDING, FORGIVING, HONEST, TRUTHFUL, SYMPATHETIC, CARING, COURAGEOUS, FAITHFUL, RELIGIOUS, GIDDY, HAPPY,
FUNNY, SILLY, SMART, SMILEY, CARING, SENSITIVE, KEPT SECRETS AND MOST OF ALL SHE WAS SO NEEDED. I could go on forever but if you knew her you knew many other words to describe her.
Her grandmom, her mom, herself and I were once the golden girls After her grandmom passed on we traveled to the casinos and many other places together. She used to say "look at the that big "L" on my forehead. I'm a loser. True, she rarely won money or prizes but she was working toward her place in heaven.
Her nieces and nephew saw a rainbow shortly after her leaving us that Friday. Could be she let us know she found her pot of gold.
I can't imagine her being needed more in heaven than here with us on earth. I guess she gave all she had to give on earth and now she is helping all of us to unite again with her and the Lord, Jesus Christ.
I can imagine all the angels that it took to carry her on her way and all the happiness she is sharing with her loved ones there.
Her mom and I (being older) will never live long enough to get past our grief. Our only consulation is that we know she has won her place in heaven.
Dene,
What a GIANT! What a WINNER!
Til we meet again--All my love Aunt Gloria

Dear Nadine & Family
From the first time our families met we became one family. We have shared many wonderful times together, and we have shared some bad times. You have always been there for us, and we will be there for you. We love you all. We will miss Dean, but we know she and Billy are watching over our family. You are in our thoughts and prayers always.

Dear Mrs. McCaffrey and Family,
Dean had the exceptional ability to live, love and laugh. Whoever she took into her circle found how to enjoy these wonderful qualities too.
What a beautiful testament to her life by family, friends and the Father Judge community the day of her Funeral Mass at St. Matthews Church on August 12th 2008.
Deans body may have weakened however her spirit will stay strong in all of us who loved her forever.
May God hold you in the palm of his hand my friend.

To all the wonderful McCaffreys:
We are all so saddened by the loss of Dean and were so sorry that we were so far away when we heard that she had passed away. She was very special to all of us and we will miss her deeply. She touched us all with her caring nature and her witty sense of humor. We know she's in a wonderful place with those we love who have gone before her. May your wonderful memories and the love of those around you sustain you during this very difficult time.
With love,

Dear McCaffrey Family,
I was just a young, naive 8th grader when I first met Dean...thanks to Billy & Theresa! Even before I ventured into the world of Father Judge she started to show me the ropes-stay off the 4th floor, and don't buy pool passes from the Seniors!
I know I wasn't the first incoming Freshman to get that advice, and certainly not the last. She always looked out for me and for that I'll be ever grateful.
I'll alwys remember the fishing trip to LBI and listening to the "oldies" with her. She is, was, and always will be very special to me.
I love you all...and may God Bless you!

Dear Mrs. McCaffrey & Family,
We extend our heartfelt prayers and love to your family at this time. Your sorrow & loss is felt by many who knew your precious Nadine.
As Fr. DeMauro so elequently put into words how she "lived Christ" and "loved so much" - her family, friends, the boys at Father Judge, the Judge Community and all who came to know Nadine. Her Mass was truly a celebration of her life and the beauty, laughter & love she brought to so many. Her laughter & quick wit was a great gift that God gave her & she used it in many ways to uplift so many of us.
I can see her now laughing with her friends & relatives & having purple wings and a beautiful bulletin board with all of us on it. She is asking God to keep all of us in His care especially her Mom.
Fred and I saw a beautiful sunset last night. It was magnificent and it had lots of purple hues in it. I said, "Nadine is right there spreading her beauty and the purple she so loved.
Our Hugs & Prayers,
Carolyn & Fred Wise

Mrs. McCaff, Jimmy, Jerry, Terry, Chrissy And all the McCaffreys:
Princeton Ave. has lost another "original". I just returned from vacation last week to hear about your loss. I am sorry that I could not be there with you all in this difficult time. Please accept my sincere condolences.
Dean was special in so many ways and will be remembered by everyone whose lives she touched, even if it was only to pick up a late slip at the office or just checking out the hot blond in the Dodge Challenger (even though it was purple).
I will always think of her fondly and will keep you all in my prayers.

Our family has another angel watching over us. She has joined Billy in heaven where there is no pain or sadness. God certainly blessed us by sharing Dean with us. Though her life wasn't long enough for me, God knew he needed her more. The impact she left will live on forever. Sharing her love was her first priority. Selfless, caring, patient and kind all rolled up into a beautiful woman. She may have been small in frame, but she was larger than life...If I can live my life half as well as she did, her mission on earth, will have been complete. I love and miss you, DD. Thanks for loving me. You are always in my heart. XOXOXOX

Dear McCaffrey Family,
When we had the good fortune to meet Dean, we saw right away how much she meant to so many. She was such a giving, fun person whose love for her family shined brightest of all that was wonderful about her. It was truly a blessing to know her. We can see through our precious Chrissy the depth of your sorrow. We are holding all of you in our hearts and praying that by God's grace, you will soon find peace in Dean's passing and joy in her memory.
Love and Blessings to all,

Dear McCaffery family,
I have lived many miles away and had so few opportunities to spend time with Dean, however, the times that I did have with her were wonderful! She was always so fun and positive about every aspect of life! It was as if I'd known her my whole life every time I was able to spend time with her. I am so sorry for your loss. It is a huge one. My love, thoughts and prayers are with you all now and always.

Dean was so special to all of us. It became crystal clear at the funeral how many lives she touched. On a personal note, when I first arrived on the scene 13 years ago, Dean was the first to welcome me into the McCaffrey circle and make me feel like I belonged. I'll never forget that. Dean also was the one to make sure everything was just right during the holidays. She had that special touch. There will be such a void without her. I am fortunate to have known her as a sister and a friend for the past 13 years. I will miss her dearly.

To the Whole McCaffrey family: You are a wonderful, warm and loving family. I'm so grateful that Michael had the wisdom to marry Chrissy so that, by extension, I became a part of your very supportive and caring circle. I still can't absorb the fact that Dean/D.D. is gone. It just happened too suddenly. Her funeral was such a wonderful send-off to Heaven for her. My heart goes out to all of you now and forever. You've all been in my thoughts constantly since last Friday morning, when Michael called me with the sad and shocking news. I pray especially for Mom M. I love you all very much.

Certain people & places are carried in our memory forever and in mine (and alot of others) Nadine is engraved in mine. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure....she was loved beyond any amount of words can speak of and missed beyond measure. Nadine was one who touched my life in so many ways and will forever stay in my heart. I'm sure I go on and on how she has impacted my life but instead of sadness, I will smile on my treasured memories of her.
I thank everyone that has touched Nadine in some way and made her smile & cheer on the day we celebrated for Nadine. I know she felt our love for her. Thank you Nadine for touching and being in my life.

Words cannot even begin to express the gireve i'm feeling. My heart is broken. Dean was my Godmother, my sister, my girlfriend, my sainity, my confidant, my cheerleader and my 2nd mother. The high honor she recieved at her funeral was comforting to our whole family ~ she deserved it. Her family of our Mom, brothers, sisters, neices, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins are very sadden by this loss. The Fr Judge community and alumni are sadden by this loss. We all know, like our brother Jimmy so beautifully said, Dean was our cheerleader....and she was. She always had our back whether she agreed or not...she never left our side. Please continue to pray for my family as we heal and find peace. We all have strong faith that she is in heaven with our Lord holding her hand and comforting her soul. Just 2 days after DD passed we all saw a big bright rainbow in the sky.....we know this was Dean's way of sending us a sign that she made it to her new home.

Dear Mrs. McCaffrey and family,
Nadine truly lived up to the following quotation every day of her life.
"Do not wish to be anything except what you are and strive to be that well".
Anyone and everyone who walked into the office at FJHS was always greeted by Nadine with a quick smile and a happy hello. She certainly was one of a kind and anyone who knew Nadine is blessed as she has touched so many lives all her life.
Remember the good times with her and how very much she loved each and every one of your family and all those who had to good fortune at one time or another to deal with Nadine.
Our family is extending to you deepest sympathy to you and your family at this time of sorrow.

Anyone who knew of Father Judge knew the name "Nadine". My husband and my two sons are graduates of Father Judge and all remember her as always smiling and being a help to all. My heart goes out to all of you durning these hard times. NADINE ment so much to us as she did to alot of people. As a student and a coach at Judge I could always count on NADINE whenever I needed help with something.
I am also glad that after 15 years she never got tired of me looking over her shoulder while my picture hung on the wall behind her, I think it was the koala bear she loved to look at. We will miss her, as will hundreds of others.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. Nadine and I had a very special friendship from my Father Judge days. Everyday we fed off each others smiles and cheerfulness to help others. I worked hard For Nadine as one of her favorite runners through the halls of Judge during my breaks. Although I knew Chrissy and married Maureen I always looked forward to visiting Maureen's parents in the hopes that I would run into Nadine, and see my old friend. I always missed her smile.

To the McCaffrey Family,
I only recently heard and was deeply saddened to learn of Nadine’s untimely passing.
I firmly believe that although the death of Nadine leaves all of you with a heartache that truly no one can heal, there is comfort in knowing that the love you shared with her throughout your time together and the memories you shared during her life are always with you. With this in mind, she can never be lost to you, even in death.
Although, I know that no words can really ease your pain or help to erase the loss you bear, I just want you to know that you are in our thought and prayer.

To the McCaffrey Family,
Please know you are in my thoughts & prayers. No one has to tell you how loved & important Nadine was. My husband, Nick is a '68 FJ grad & remembers Nadine fondly. He has stayed in contact with her & even became her auto mechanic. Our son, Mario is an '06 FJ grad & he thought she was cool. I am a die-hard FJ mom & helped out a couple days in the office & witnessed for myself the respect for her that each & every boy had & I was amazed at how she new every one of those boys. She will be tremendously missed by so many, including; Peggy, Nick, & Mario Laforgia

Father Judge is an institution understood only by those who were lucky enough to go there or work there. If you were lucky enough to do either, you know that Judge was a place of characters. Take any drama or sit-com, and Judge could best them when it came to the characters that worked there. Nadine was one of Judge's most beloved characters. Much will be said of her connection to the hockey program, but her circle of influence went much further. Nadine was a grounding agent. She had the uncanny ability to remind people of what is important.
Nadine was a character, with character. She was quick with a joke to keep the moments light, and quick with a listening hear. She counseled too many students to count. Whenever I run into former students, she was always the one they asked about.
My deepest condolences to the McCaffrey Family. Thanks for sharing Nadine with us.

Dean was so full of life and laughter that is impossible to comprehend that someone with her spiirit is gone. She was the center, the heart and soul of every realm of her life. She loved her family more than herself, and would do anything to support and encourage them in every aspect of life.Their joy was her joy, their pain was her pain. She was the warm comforting face ofFather Judge Hs to thousands of parents and students over 40 years, always encouraging, praising and joking with the kids, especially her Hockey players. She was the most loving and giving person I have ever known. She was one of a kind. She is irreplaceable.

Dear McCaffrey family we are heartbroken with the loss of Nadine. She took our son Marc or Zeke as most of us called him under her wing as a Mother at Father Judge both in school and at hockey, and was always there for him. Last year she did the same for our Derek as a freshman he knew her and felt he had someone to talk to. We all loved her and will miss her every day. God really needed her for other things I guess. Our prayers are with all of you.

Nadine lived the greatest of all the Gospel messages: "helping others."
She was my secretary when I was the Principal of Father Judge High School. I can tell you she practiced the Salesian philosophy of a positive attitude in all you do. She had a gift of healing, being a counselor to many a troubled student and teacher.
I will miss her wisdom, wit and advice. I am thankful to God for having had the privilege to work with such a dedicated person to the mission of Catholic education.
