Like many others, I met Pedro at NC A&T State University, in 1968. He always had a smile and a hug. He was a fixture at A&T's Homecoming, where this week end he will be sorely missed. So I will raise my cup, and salute a great guy.

What a great guy! Over the years I worked with Nate screening/interviewing teacher candidates for the School District of Philadelphia. He was reliable and always there when you needed him. Even after he retired, Nate would stop by the Recruitment Office to see how we were doing. We can't believe that he is gone. Our prayers are with his family.

To Pedro's family: Pedro was my Friend and my Brother.I met him in 1965 at N.C. A&T and hung out with the Philly ball players, Ted Campbell, George Mack and Pedro. He had an old 4 speed car he called 'the rock' whenever he drove from Greensboro to Phila., I rode with him. He taught me how to drive a stick shift. A few years later Pedro pledged Groove Phi Groove of which I had already been a member but it made our bond even tighter. It was Pedro who persuaded me to ride wiith him to Greensboro for A&T's Homecoming in 2007.(I hadn't been in Greensboro in over 40 years). Words cannot express how much I admired, respect and miss my friend and Brother. ""To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD" Respectfully, Bob Hickman..Groove Phi Groove

Reggie was a good man. I am a former Thomas Edison Basketball player and a teammate of Reggie. He was quite a character, playing to a different drummer. Far too many highschool friends have left us early. George Mack,Trooper Washington, Ted Campbell, Joe Williams and now Reggie. We all will be together someday and all will be right again. I may even pass the ball, rather than shoot. Bill Gillespie, Edison 1961

Though I was not blessed with the opportunity of meeting Mr. Pettus, I was however, blessed with meeting Nolita through a friend. If she is a reflection of him, then I am sure I missed out on meeting a phenomenal individual. I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the family during their time of sorrow. Please know that he is now in a better place smiling down upon each of you and with loving memories in mind you can one day smile back.

Brother Reggie was one my mentors while growing up and taught me a lot about life, the streets of Phila. and especially "hoops". If it wasn't for Reggie Ebenezer Church would have never had the glory years of Church basketball championships but most important he was a good brother who I will miss. Peace be unto you. Trust in the Lord. Pedro will surely be missed. He was always someone you loved having an association with. When I celebrated my 60th birthday Pedro was there. Pedro was a very, very good friend of mine. We met in college at A&T and have been friends ever since.
Pedro always gave more than he received. He would help anyone at anytime. He would give you the shirt off of his back.
Pedro meant so much to so many people.
He never met a stranger. He cared for
young people and would do anything to help them out.
I can't say enough about Pedro. He was one of a kind. He loved A&T to the utmost. He would come "down south" as
he would say to attend any type event at A&T or just to visit.
I miss Pedro already. No football game,
basketball tournament, Penn Relays or any other event will be the same with out "Pedro" being there.
My prayers are with the entire Pettus family. God does not make mistakes. Pedro is in good hands now and is not suffering anymore.
