Oscar Benedetti Obituary

BENEDETTI
OSCAR, age 83, retired architectural engineer and movie theatre owner, died of heart failure on Monday, June 12, 2006 at his home in Portland, OR, where he lived since 1987.
Raised in Williamstown NJ, he graduated from Drexel University and designed several buildings and boats in the Philadelphia area including the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. Mr. Benedetti purchased the Grand Theatre on Main St. in Williamstown in 1968 and operated it with his wife and children until 1980 while working full time for an architectural firm in Philadelphia. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, traveling and music while playing the organ.
Beloved husband of Violet (nee Testa) of 59 years. Devoted father of Marlene (William) Toffler, Eileen (Don) Plum, Gregory (Rebecca) Benedetti and Jeffrey Benedetti. Loving grand-father of 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Diane Hogan, Diva Troiano and Edna Thomas. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Main St. and Carroll Ave., Williamstown. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Williamstown. Arrangements under the direction of BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME of Williamstown.
