PAMELA CRUTCHFIELD Obituary

CRUTCHFIELD PAMELA VOLIVA August 14, 2025. Our beloved Pam will be greatly missed by her sweetheart of 65 years, James Crutchfield Sr.; her son James Jr. (deceased); her daughters, Leslie (Anthony Macintyre) and Margaret (Ian Robertson); her brother, Edward Voliva Jr., and sister Jane Voliva (deceased); and her grandchildren, Carter, Jackson, Mark, Caleigh, Katie, Quinn, Sarah and Finn, who all loved their 'MomPam.' Born on November 24, 1941, to Faye and Eddie Voliva, Pam grew up in Belhaven, a small eastern North Carolina town along the beautiful Pamlico River. She loved sailing, water skiing, basketball, and tennis. She attended Peace School for Girls and St. Mary's College. Pam met 'Crutch' in college and they married in 1961, and started life together in Charlotte, NC. They moved to Short Hills, NJ, and in 1975 to Philadelphia's Main Line. Next to her family, Pam's greatest commitment was to community. She volunteered with the Junior League and served as President of the Sustainers, among other leadership roles. She was a member and president of both the Chestnut Hill Orchestra Committee and the Suburban Garden Club. Pam was active at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church as a president of the Women of the Church. Pam's greatest joy was bringing family together: Thanksgivings on the Outer Banks, beach weeks in Avalon, and Christmases in Wayne. With her Southern graciousness and warmth, she made everyone feel special. She also enjoyed the many activities at Merion Cricket and Aronimink Golf clubs, mid-winters in Naples, FL and book club discussions. Pam loved reading, and will be fondly remembered stretched out on the couch with a book and glass of sweet tea in hand. Kind, gentle, and humble, Pam always put others first. She was beautiful inside and out. She radiated joy and goodness to all. A Memorial Service will be held on September 13 at 11:00 A.M. at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church in Bryn Mawr, PA. Always thought a lot of my "cousin" Pam. My mom and her mom were sisters, that grew up in Columbia, NC. Many great memories of going to Belhaven to visit Pam, Ed and Jane, and Uncle Eddie & Aunt Faye. Pam & I kept up a bit through the years and chatted from time to time, and I always looked forward to her Christmas letter. Talked to Ed today, and just found out about Pam having passed away recently. Crutch, I know how much Pam meant to you..take care.
