Dear Martin and Family,

I am so sorry for your loss.

We were all friends at the University of Scranton. Spent a lot of time with Patty, Megan, Jen and Chris. Tons of fun memories.

I haven't seen any of the crew in a long time, but when Jim Malone let me know what had happened, I was shocked.

We wanted to send you and your family our condolences and prayers. May God bless you all.

Dear Martin and Family:

I am sorry for the heartbreaking loss of your wife and mother.

I was privileged to work with Pat during her many years as Southold's Town Attorney. She was always deeply committed to serving the people of Southold Town and provided years of excellent, innovative and sound legal advice. Pat's passing is also their great loss.

On behalf of her friends at the New York Department of State in Albany, we wish you strength to continue during this difficult time.

Dear Martin & Family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy on your incredible loss.

As a classmate of Patty's at the U of S, I got to know and spend time with her and her dear friends Megan, Jen, Chris, Margaret et al. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone she met. Although I hadn't seen her since we left school, I was very saddened when I learned of her passing; a testament to what a sweet, memorable person she was.

On behalf of all her friends from Scranton (Brett Scanlan, Eddie Refice, Brian Bell, Tim McGrath, Dave FitzPatrick and Don Rinaldi), I wish you and your children peace and happiness.

I first met Patty back in 1984, her freshman year at the University of Scranton. I was entering my senior year there. She was inseparable from her friend Megan Malone. Over the years as I stayed on at Scranton for grad school, my roommates were very good friends w/Patty, Megan, Jen & Chris and all their friends. We had lots of great times together at our house, their house and all the other off campus houses. I will always remember Patty laughing and having a great time at our beloved alma mater.

Last summer, I went back up to Scranton for my roommates' 20th reunion. We were so glad to see everyone, but saddened on Sat. when we heard the news that Pat Flat was sick with breast cancer. It seemed so unfair and unreal.

When I received the call on Friday, I was shocked and saddened to hear this awful disease took her life, far too young. My heart breaks for her husband, her 4 kids, her dad and brothers and the rest of her family and all her friends, especially Megan, Jen & Chris.

I hope Patty is at peace now, not suffering anymore and has been reunited with her mother.

I cannot express my sympathy to her loved ones other than to say she will be missed. I hope she will continue to look over her loved ones until they are reunited with her again.

Dear Martin & Children: We are so sorry for your loss, you are in our prayers. We will always remember Patty with a big smile on her face and a humorous story to share. She was truly one of the happiest people you ever met. We have great memories of Patty from the University of Scranton, and when she lived in DE and attended Widener Law. She will be dearly missed by everyone who was blessed to call her a friend.
