I hope Jeanine and Paul's family are OK. Paul was a very near and dear friend. He was my mentor and the closest thing I have had to a father figure. I miss you Paul. This world is a lesser place without you.

I had met Paul Mayo in Iowa 1 month before this horrific accident. I had the chance to here him speak about the life and times of drag racing from the 60s through the 70s and he made it feel surreal like it just happened yesterday. I had the chance to sit and talk to him one on one and he was alot of fun, the stories kept coming and the people he raced with all sounded like great people.
I will always cherrish that time I had spent with him, and I will always miss him and his great stories. Thanks Paul.

Our deepest sympathies. I never got to meet Paul, but I remember him as a major player in the Super Stock wars back when the stars of that class shone as brightly as any of the professionals.

I didn't know Paul personally but have been following his career for a while beings I'm an Oldsmobile lover. I enjoyed his article in a recent Journey With Olds on the career of Dale Smith. I'm very saddened to hear of his passing and may he RIP.

Paul Mayo brought a level of professionalism to Super Stock drag racing that gave everyone else something to shoot for. I'll always remember him in that goofy hat of his, a positive guy in a negative world, and a wonderful friend. He will be missed.

A good man, a good racer and a major player in the days when Super Stock racing ruled the eastern portion of the country. Life goes by blindingly fast, so it's important to remember and cherish our friends and family. Paul will be missed by far more than his family may yet realize, for he touched many people in a positive manner.

My family and I are very sorry for your loss, Paul was a great guy and a great "racer". He ran a ton of Division 3 races for my Dad when he was a Division Director. You are in our thoughts.....

Jeannine and all of the Mayo family,

My deepest condolences to all of you during this very difficult time.

Paul was one of the most positive and happy people I've known, who understood that tomorrow is promised to no one. He lived his life accordingly.

Please know that all of you are in my prayers. And please give Dub a tummy rub and a scratch behind the ears too!
