Peter was a dear childhood friend of mine. We met in third grade at PS99 in Brooklyn, stayed friends though eighth grade there and then for four more years at Lafayette High School, and spent virtually every Friday night hanging out together in Junior year. Even though my name is Marshall, Peter affectionally called me Maxwell. After Peter left Brooklyn to attend college, I only saw him once more, when he visited home before leaving again to work on his Masters. As an adult, I live in Los Angeles, and I heard that Peter was living in Pennsylvania. We never did connect again, but I think of him very often as the years go by because of the numerous memorable experiences we shared as kids which come into my mind regularly as I go though life and so many things remind me of Peter. To say that I loved him, would not begin to explain my feelings as I learned just now of his passing a couple of years ago. If any of his family members would ever like to contact me to learn more about Peter as a young boy, I would be pleased to talk with them about my friend.

Peter and I were classmates at Lafayette High School. We were in several classes together including AP English where Peter affectionately called our teacher, Joseph Shapiro, "uncle Joe." We also played tennis and squash whenever we could get a court.
As a birthday gift a couple of years ago, my wife gave me Storyworth for which one writes stories of his/her life on various topics, one of which was
"nicknames." I remembered that Peter used to call me Marcus (my name is Mark) in a very endearing manner. I remember that Peter had a wonderful sense of humor and was a very good friend. Unfortunately we lost touch after high school.
I was sad to see that he passed away last October. My condolences to Peter´s family.
