Reynold PANETTIERI Obituary
Dr. Panettieri, one of 5 siblings (Vivian, Arlene, Leonard, Louis), was born in Eynon PA. He married Joan Robinson, his beloved wife of 61 years. Dr. Panettieri attended University of Scranton, where he graduat-ed Summa Cum Laude in 1954. Subsequently, he received his medical doctorate from Temple University in 1958. Having received numerous awards, Dr. Panettieri, a Diplomat of Family Medicine, was in solo practice in Fox Chase for 54 years.
As a passionate and devoted doctor, patient care was central to his life. His humble spirit, energetic charisma, and loving heart embodied who he was. Despite an unbelievable work ethic, Dr. Panettieri always made time for family. He found enjoyment in nature, gardening and sports; and he vacationed in Cape May NJ.
Dr. Panettieri is survived by his wife; his 2 sons, Reynold A. Panettieri, Jr., M.D. (Lucy M. Tate) and Richard A. Panettieri (Suzanne); and his grandsons, Geoffrey and Christopher as well as Heather, his grand-daughter. Preceded in death by his grandson, Drew Panettieri.
Family, friends and colleagues are invited to his Viewing TODAY, 9 A.M. at St. Hilary's Catholic Church, Rydal PA 19046. Funeral Mass 10 A.M. Interment St. John Neumann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and gifts, a donation may be made to 4UDrew Foundation, P.O. Box 44, Jamison PA 18929.

Dr Panettieri was our family physician growing up. I remember many house visits when us kids were to sick for travel. I vividly remember once on a "home" visit I wouldn't let him use the tounge depressor as I was sure of bringing up my lunch, Doctor said he'd give me a dollar to "say a quick ahhhh".... Well you can guess what happened ( and Doc still gave me the dollar).

Sad to learn so many years after his passing. He was the family doctor for most of my aunts and uncles, and myself until I moved away from NE Philly to become a doctor myself. When I was in high school (1963) he consented to bring me along on rounds to get some "physician on the job" experience. His intelligence was abundant, and his manner affable and considerate. He was the epitome of continuing medical education, before it was forced upon us. I am grateful to have known him and for his encouragement toward my 42 year career.

My heart goes out to you Mrs. Panettieri and family. Dr. Panettieri was the best doctor I ever had. He was a devoted doctor and great at diagnosting and caring for me when I was ill as I know he did with his other patients. He was so knowledgable but best of all he was warm and caring. He was such a wonderful man and an excellent doctor. He took such good care of my parents and me. I'm glad we were able to see him back in October. So sorry to hear of Dr. Panettieri's passing. I remember waiting in his office to be seen like it was yesterday and always being greeted with the warmest smile. He took such amazing care of me, my siblings and my father for so many years. Even when I moved away, I still came back to Solly Avenue for that special care, no other family physician could give.

So sad to hear of Dr. Panettieri's passing.
He was truly a warm-hearted doctor, an "old-school" physician who took his time to really listen, whose gentle manner made a patient feel comfortable & never rushed. I will always remember our wonderful conversations.
He helped immensely with my severe cat allergy when I first went to him in 1989. He knew just how to help me get thru a week of cat exposure, & he treated me periodically since then.
It was a real honor to have known such a gentle soul, & I send my sympathies to his famiy. He will surely be greatly missed, for the goodness he spread to all who were lucky enough to have know him.

He was a wonderful man and the best Doctor I have ever known. Warm hearted and compassionate. He spoke Italian to my parents when they were alive and were his patients. He also took very good care of my children. He treated you as a family member and not like the assembly line of medicine practiced today where they send you on to other doctors who in turn sent you to more other doctors. Dr. Panettieri did it all. I will miss him. I loved him as a friend as well as my doctor for many years. He paid for my "Marriage blood test" for me and my future wife 43 years ago. Dr. Panettieri was the kindest most the compassionate man I have ever known. He took time to listen to his patients. Never rushed you no matter how packed his office was. I often asked him when he was going to retire and he said probably never. He didn't want to turn his patients over to the cold and clinical practices of today. Please be assured of our thoughts and prayers on the death of such a wonderful and kind Doctor. My mother-in-law was Dr. Panettieri patient for 45 years. She received exceptional good care from Dr. Panettieri. She is 94 years old and living in a nursing home. His office front door was always open to her. Dr. Panettieri was remarkable in his knowledge of the needs of every patient. Joan, you were amazing how you assisted him in the office and with his patients. You had a M.D. without the title.
May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.

I loved this man with a passion only given to a father. He was without a doubt the best doctor I ever had a pleasure to go to. He always had a kind loving smile for you and very sympathetic to what ever problem you had. He was a great listener and adviser. No one, and I repeat no one can fill this mans shoes.
