Richard D., Jr. POMERANTZ Obituary

POMERANTZ Richard D., Jr. Age 89, passed from this earth to the Great Fly Fishing Stream in the Sky on July 29, 2025. He is survived by 'first' wife Jill (married 65 years), daughter Abby, and grandsons Jeremy, Ben, Ethan, and Charlie. He was preceded in death by son Rich. Dick was born on October 23, 1935, in Philadelphia, PA. A proud graduate of Cheltenham High School '53, he then attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, majoring in Mathematics (but mostly playing bridge, poker, and watching movies with his ZBT fraternity brothers). After serving in the Army, and a brief stint in the family office supply business, A. Pomerantz & Company, he was hired by International Business Machines, the start of a long and successful career as the National Account Manager for the Sun Oil account. Richard was a master angler, spending countless hours (many in the dark of night) in the cool flowing waters of the Brodhead Forest & Stream Association in Analomink, PA. Other passions included travel, spending time with his grandsons, telling jokes, his beloved Eagles and Phillies, running, hiking, skiing, and reading. Lighthearted, with a legendary sense of humor, Dick will be remembered with a chuckle by all who knew him. Funeral arrangements handled by GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC. Donations in Dick's memory can be made to The Nature Conservancy (nature.org). www.goldsteinsfuneral.com
