I will miss my friend, mentor, confidant and guardian angel to my family when at the premier health organization of this country. His friendly mannerism generated loyalty not just to him but to his teammates as a whole. We all wanted to please Rick. I've have too many tears and not enough times with a great man. I will never walk into HUP and not feel the tug to visit him down the hall...
RIP Rick. We will try our best to carry the torch you lit in each of us.

My heartfelt condolences to the Demers family. Rick was one of the first people I met upon my arrival at HUP nearly 30 years ago. He always made time for me. He taught me a great deal about a great many things. Like everyone else, I will miss him. God bless you my friend.

Dear Karen and family, my sincere condolences to you all. Rick and I grew up together and were next-door neighbors for many years. I have many fond memories of building snow forts and playing badminton in the yard. We lost touch after high school, but we connected last year. He will be in my prayers as well all of you. God bless. Love, claudette dachowski

I wish to express my heartfelt condolences for your tragic loss of Rick. Rick was an exuberant nor´easter from the first time we met and stayed that way throughout his life. He possessed a great desire to be a highly accomplished pharmacist leader and always to provide the highest level of pharmaceutical care. The pharmacy profession is richer from his constant striving and many professional achievements. God bless and keep him. Rest in Peace.

I always enjoyed working with Rick when I was in HR at HUP. He was always a pleasure to work with and always had a smile. I always admired his Ohio State photo in his office. Rick was one of the good guys. Rest In Peace.

You will always be in my memories! So many good times from Buckeye events to golf outings to a friendship that goes beyond words. Being Uncle Jerry to your boys and watching them grow into the fine young men made me share in your pride. So happy for the birth of your granddaughter but now you will have to be her guardian angel as my father was to my grandchildren! Rest In Peace my friend as you deserve the rest, we will take care of things on Earth for now !

When you meet a man of faith who uses the many gifts God has given him for the benefit of others, you enjoy being around that person and you will always remember them. Rick was such a person and we were blessed to have known him these last few years. Rick made the world a better place. He leaves behind an example that should be a challenge for us follow. May God grant him rest and his family peace.

I am so sad to hear of Rick´s passing. He was a kind, intelligent and light-hearted man. I felt blessed to know him over the years working in the biotech space. He taught me so much and was always focused on helping to serve the patients in the UPENN community.
He always spoke about his family adventures. He would light up relaying stories about his family and especially his boys. I am so truly sorry for your loss. He will be missed by so many.

Rick was such a kind and patient man, especially when it came to pharmacists. For several years I tried to get him to agree to attend the Executive Management Program for Pharmacy Leaders at the Wharton School. Finally, he agreed, and from that program, we became casual friends. Whenever I had a question or needed help he would always pick up the phone to answer my call. He was a giant in the world of Hospital Pharmacy and we all respected him. He will be missed by all of us.
