May his passing to Eternal Life have been as peaceful and enfused with his all-embracing humor as my family experienced in every interaction with "Father" Skelly since the early 50s. Unforgettable and always so accepting! Stephen Burns, nephew of the late Rev Msgr Vincent L Burns, June 20, 2017
Peggy Ann Osborne

The Frank and Peggy Ann Osborne Family loved Monsignor Richard J. Skelly very much. He was an anchor to our family for over 35 years. He married some of our children and baptized our grandchildren. He taught Megan to tie her shoes. Frank X., our son, commented on how many sporting events he attended when our five children were at St. Joseph School. He was Pastor when Colleen was May Queen. He was quick to talk sports but was always a powerfully spiritual presence in our lives. He often walked onto our porch in Ocean City at all hours of the day and night and held "court" in his most delightful manner. His personality was so like our Kevin's and he always said to us, "Don't worry about Kevin, Kevin will be fine" and Kevin is very fine. Kelley's comment - "Wow no more visits from Father Skelly at the shore. Gosh I'll miss that." Monsignor was a very holy man who loved God very much and loved his family VERY much. He will be missed in so many ways. May God bless you for all the blessings that you shared with so many people over your lifetime, RJS-54 - 54 being the year Monsignor Skelly was ordained - a wonderfully good priest and gentleman through and through. You will be missed. I trust you are smiling down on your family who you loved so much - your sisters and your brothers and their progeny. You spoke so often of your Mother. You are together again. Love and miss you. Keep your eyes on the Osborne Family. Love you lots!

I was fortunate to have been an alter server as a young boy with Monsignor Skelly and had the privilege of having him celebrate my wedding as a young man, he was a great man and priest and will be missed. He was always there for my family throughout the years and will be forever remembered and kept in my prayers.

We have lost a friend and an inspiration one who was always there for our family.
He married four of our children and celebrated our 50th. God will have a special place for HIM
