Mariners Cove at Diamond Beach is a much better place because Bob saw the Deck Project through. "It never rains in Diamond Beach."

We never referred to him as "Smokey"...but as "Bob" he was the best Friend, Neighbor & Beach Buddy. If you had a situation, and you needed help, all you had to do was let Bob know, and your situation became less of a problem & less of a headache, because he then took it on. Thanks, Bob, for always bringing Sunshine into our lives.

Mr. Dilks was one of the greatest guys that I ever knew. One has to look no deeper than the content of the character of his children to see what a class act that Mr. Dilks was. He may be gone, but his legacy of kindness and good nature will live on forever.

Kieran, Christina and family,

I was so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. It was obvious from the few times I met him why you all are so tight - not that I really knew him, but he seemed like a great guy, and he had good reason for the obvious pride he felt towards his fine family.

Catfish, don't be a stranger. I have no idea how to reach you, but we should arrange that long overdue drink with Wes, and hoist a few in your dad's honor to boot.

You are all in my thoughts - sorry to be signing this so late in the game...

I knew Smoky from Recon in 1969. He was a standup guy who was liked and respected by all. Since Vietnam, I only saw him once at the 2002 Americal reunion in D.C.. I wish I could have spent more time with him and known his family. The world will be a lesser place without him.

Rita and Family,
Knowing Bob was a gift from God. I am sorry our gift was taken back too soon. God left us with a wonderful family and for that we are very grateful.
Bob made the morning sunshine brighter and now he lights the nighttime sky. Bob will be missed but never forgotten.

Dear Rita and Family,
Bob will forever be a part of our family. Lucky...that's how we feel to have known him, and for the privilege of having him touch our lives the way he did. "It never rains in Diamond Beach", Bob would always say. It was true...when Bob was around, so was the sunshine!
Bob, we'll do our best to keep that sun shining for you! With love and respect, The DePaul Family

Dear Rita & family,
Please know that my thoughts & prayers are with all of you. Bob with his wonderful smile & genuine caring personality will be missed by many. I recall him & Steve DeJoseph coaching baseball to the boys & Bob affectionately giving them the nickname of "potato head". They were excellent coaches allowing the team to enjoy themselves & learn about the sport at the same time. God Bless & Keep all of you. You are a terrific family.

Dear Rita and Family,

When Terri called me with the sad news I was heartbroken and will remain so for a while I'm sure...a wise person once said that "joy shared is twice the joy, and sorrow shared is half the sorrow." I share your sorrow. I probably haven't seen Bob in a decade or more, yet I feel his loss deeply - that's how great men affect you.

Peace,

Bobbie and Howie Taylor
