Thinking of Rob

Steve Glickman

September 17, 2013

I miss Rob. It feels like I just talked with him. He helped me get my first job on the Hill, shortly after I met him in 2006. Since then, he remained a good friend and mentor. He had a knack for leaving me feeling better about myself and more at ease after each of our interactions. I know he has found his happy place, as well. You're the man, Rob.

Rob and I laughed together for over half our lives. Elementary school, overnight camp, ice hockey, staying at his grand parents house in Margate countless weekends, Travelling together to The Greek Islands, hanging out with Duff McKagen (the bass player from Guns N' Roses, and so many other wonderful times and fond memories. As my brother put it, we grew up in each other's homes. I have been thinking about and reliving so many of our experiences over and over again in my head. I am thinking about all of the Getzoff family.

August 14, 2013

Dr Getzoff, Karen and the Getzoff family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your son. You are wonderful people. I didn't know Robert but I know he must have been a fine young man because he came from such kind loving people. I can only keep you and him in my prayers.

Dear Getzoff family, I'm so sorry to learn of your loss. Rob's laugh always filled the room or the other end of the phone whenever we talked about old cars, rock concerts and most recently when, out of the blue, he explained why mountain lions were showing up on the East Coast. My sincerest condolences.

But I'll always remember that laugh and his self-deprecating sense of humor that he shared liberally with all of his many Georgetown MBA friends. My deep condolences to the family.
