It seemed no matter where you were, if you met someone from Southwest Philly, they knew Bulge. More friendships were made because of the association with Bulgie. Think about how many more people have entered your life because you knew Bulge. He was a true ambassador of happiness. If you really what to keep Bulgie's legacy intact, show someone a random act of kindness, make a stranger laugh, help someone. That's who Bulge was.

Bulge was West Catholic. Even though it has been years since I have seen him, I always considered him one of my best school friends. His smile was contagious and his kindness to all was endless. Bobby was a one of a kind person. A great guy.

Dear Linda & Family,
We are saddened by the news, belatedly relayed by Jerry T. Bulge was a memorable, unique person. I do not think he ever met a person he did not like. Likewise, everyone who met him fell under the spell of the friendliest guy they ever met. He had a million jokes and as a story teller, he had no equal. We were blessed when we met him and he worked with us at Jack's Place. We were honored when married Linda at our home. There isn't a memory we have of our 19 years in business, where he doesn't play a starring role. He was a loyal, true friend who will be missed. I am sure he has taken over the entertainment in Heaven and can hardly wait to get there and see what he's done. No doubt, he's already nudged St. Peter off the door, and will have special passes for all his friends.
Love,
Jack, Joanne & Jay Erkert

RIP Bulge! I did not know him personally but in the late 70s early 80s he was an institution down at Jack's Place in Avalon NJ. Bartender, host, singer, you name it. He had a million friends. Bulge was just a fun guy to be around. Condolences to all his loved ones. He will be missed.
