Robert Scott Obituary

SCOTT
ROBERT E., on June 30, 2005, age 81, of Moorestown, NJ. A native of NJ, he was born in Stratford and graduated from Haddonfield Mem'l High School, where he was president of the Class of 1941. After earning an engineering degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA (where he was also President of his class), he served as an engineering officer aboard a destroyer in the Pacific during WWII. He lived in Moorestown during early years of marriage and family, serving as Elder and Superintendent of Sunday School for the First Presbyterian Church. His entire business career was in the field of industrial/commercial insurance including engineering, sales and corporate management. After several years working in this area, he spent nine years overseas, based in London, managing international operations for the Factory Mutual System. This was followed by many years in New England: working in Providence and Hartford, living in Little Compton, R.I. and Woodstock, CT. After retirement, he engaged in many volunteer activities in the Woodstock area. He returned to Moorestown in 2001, where he lived at The Evergreens. Mr. Scott is survived by four children, Elizabeth (Libby) Scott Eustis of Milton, MA; Mary (Molly) Sheldon Scott of Seattle, WA; Robert (Bob) Winfield Scott of Machiasport, ME; and Lucinda (Lucy) Scott Kellermeier of Berlin, Germany; four grandchildren, Edith and Peter Eustis and Philip and Hannah Kellermeier; his brother Philip (Ted) E. Scott, Jr., of Lumberton Leas; and his wife Miriam Weest Scott of Little Compton, R.I. Family and friends are invited to Mr. Scott's Memorial Service, Sat., July 9th, 11 A.M. in the Chapel at The Evergreens, 309 Bridgeboro Rd., Moorestown; where the family will greet friends following the Service. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Scott's name be made to The Evergreens Fellowship Fund, 309 Bridgeboro Rd., Moorestown, NJ 08057.
