ROGER FRANKLIN Obituary
ROGER ALEXANDER, April 5, 2010, beloved husband of Michelle (nee Silenzio), son of Roger and Joan Franklin, and the late Catherine Franklin, brother of Richard Franklin (Debi), David Franklin (Michaela), David Sokolow (Sheila) and Karen Henry (Rick); also survived by nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Thursday, 3 P.M. precisely, GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS, 6410 N. Broad St. Family will be at his late residence. Contributions in his memory may be made to Phila. Folk Song Society, 1323 Salford Station Rd., Schwenksville PA 19473 or The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation, 1205 N. Rampart St., New Orleans LA 70116.

I only met Roger 3 times over the past 3 years. I was invited to the Classic Rock Art Shows in the Philly area for the past 3 years and each year Roger and Michelle were there. Browzing and buying. They both avidly collected Rock & Roll artwork. But only artwork that was colorful and creative and beautiful. Roger had a keen eye for what gave him pleasure and inner satisfaction. He had a beautiful soul and he appeared to seek out the things that gave him pure joy. Hence, Michelle and music and art. I know that Michelle and Roger's family will miss him greatly, but as you reflect upon him, just always take a moment to remember that he was a very sweet person who surrounded himself with sweet things. If he liked us and was kind to us, it was only because he loved us. Peace.

It's still hard to believe that Roger is gone. He wasn't just a neighbor, but a friend to me, my wife and family. No matter what the circumstance, Roger and Michelle "always" found the time to celebrate with us whatever the event may be. Always with smiling faces. Rog, you will be missed. Rock on always!!!!
