I was a neighbor of the Salandria family on south 15th street (I lived at 1906 and they lived at 1916). Rose was a few years older than I was but I recall her as being a very lovely lady. I was closer in age to her sister Jeanie and brother Franny. In fact I went to school with her younger brother Franny. My grandparents and father were from Italy as were the Salandria family and I remember that her mother and father (a tailor like my father) were very hard working people. Her mother not only worked but took care of several children. Whenever I visited their row home she always insisted that I eat something and could never do enough for me! So Rose was brought up in loving home and it looks like it rubbed off on her too. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for your loss.

Your Mom, was my first cousin , her Mom , Mary and my Mom were sisters. My mom was affectionately called Aunt Maggie. I was the youngest in my family and Rose I think was the oldest in hers. I remember spending time at Aunt Mary s in south philly, her making pizza. They were fond memories of all your aunts and uncles , and of course your Mom , and Dad John. I feel so sad for your Mom s loss, and that we loss contact when our mothers passed. I was 20 years younger then your Mom , but I do remember when all you boys were born. I remember your Mom had a great sense of humor.I want to extend my sincere sympathies on your loss. I'll remember in my prayers . I do remember all my cousins with great affection. Please give my love to your Uncles Vince, Nick, and Franny, and your Aunts , MARIE, Flora and Jeannie. I tried to find Jean's phone number as she lives or she did live down here at the shore in ocean city But was not successful. I will keep trying. Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to let you know the Pellitta girls still live through their offspring. We are still alive and well. Unfortunately my sibs are gone except my oldest sister Jo and myself, Barbara Ann, but I was happy to see the Salandria life line still going strong. Bless you all.
