I have many vivid positive memories of my Aunt Rose.
I have been amazed at her spirit and creativity over a life time. She was very generous to me and my sisters. There are a few vivid moments, that come to my mind. 1) When I was about to be married, Aunt Rose was the one who offered to make me a bridal shower. This was very important to me, since my mother (her sister) had pasted away earlier. The shower she made she was such fun.
2) I remember Rose taking her willingness to take the baton and running the Brody party for a many years. This is not an easy task. I am grateful for her taking her turn and continuing this lovely family connection. 3) Also I was so impressed with Aunt Rose's resilience across the life-span and overcoming significant health problems. She seemed to able to use her creativity to transform sadness into beauty. Even when in the hospital one time, she would talk about the beauty of a tree outside her window and how she would paint. 4) And when Barry, Libby and I last saw her about a year ago, we all remember her great sense of humor from that day.

Overall, she was a wonderful woman and will be missed dearly. Our hearts and thoughts will be with Andrea, Stacy (and Larry) to heal and to remember the light she brought to this world and to her family.

I will always remember Aunt Rose as a wonderfully talented artist. Whenever my family visited her, she would show us her artwork. She graciously opened up her home to us when we came in to Philadelphia from out of town for the Brody family restaurant get togethers. I also remember going to her home for "after hours" get togethers after the restaurant get togethers. I sensed that she enjoyed entertaining and bringing the whole family together. I also remember her and Otto visiting our family in Geneseo, NY and going to Niagara Falls together. A few years ago, Andrea brought many of Aunt Rose's paintings to a Brody family get together and offered them to us. I was truly touched by this generous act and I treasure the paintings that she gave me and am very proud that they have become a part of my home and family.

I have only very fond memories of Aunt Rose as I look back at my life. Aunt Rose was always a very positive person with a zest for life and for preserving family. I will never forget when she took care of my mother in her home for 2 weeks after my mother had a fall on the pavement. She has always opened her heart very generously to me and my family and we are forever grateful. Also, when I think of Aunt Rose's life, I am reminded of the importance of finding joy in your life -- everyday.

Rose will live forever in my heart,
Cheryl

I first became acquainted with Rose when she and Otto were living in Philadelphia. I was impressed about how busy and active Rose was and how she would go to the Community Center several days a week. Rose was very friendly and had a good sense of humor and it was easy to have a conversation with her. Rose’s favorite topic was her family and she always had kind and loving words for Andrea, Stacey and Larry. It was very apparent that Rose loved her family. I will miss her as I know that all that knew her will.

My memories of Rose are of very kind, bright, talented, caring, patient person who cared a great deal for others and did not hesitate to show her true self. I am pleased and honored to have know her, although all too briefly. May she rest in peace.

She is "Aunt Rose" to me and I remember her from earliest childhood when she lived with us for a while in Philadelphia. She was a commercial artist then, working for a greeting card company. She set up her easel in our basement and my friends and I stood around her solemnly and with great admiration, watching her work. Our family was proud of her, the only Brody of her generation who had actually made it to college at the well-respected Moore College of Art. We like to think some of her talent lives on. I think it does. It is sad to realize that the last of the Brody brothers and sisters has gone. Their bond with each other was profound and long lasting. Special love to Andrea and Stacey.

Andrea, your mother was a nice lady.I had a nice conversation with her when we was at her house in philadelphia. She shared a lot of things with me about her life when she was growing up. I also enjoyed the dinner we had at the restaurant. I didn't know her well but the few times that i seen her she treated me nice.

Bubbie, (as I knew her) was a wonderful, loving, intelligent, highly amusing woman. My fondest memories of her were her attempts to persuade her granddaugther, Stacey and myself to join “dances” to meet men. She was always up for telling a crazy story from her past, usually involving a man of some sort! When Bubbie was in your presence, you couldn’t last a minute or two without laughing uncontrollably from her expressions and wild stories. She will surely be missed by everyone who knew her. May her jovial spirit live on in Stacey and the rest of the family.

I will miss Rose or Cousin Rose as we used to call her. She was my mother's cousin and was close to her as they were fairly close in age. My mother was Dorothy Mankin Green [nee Dvora/Dora]. I remember a garden party at her apartment on Old York Road in Philadelphia on a hot, summer day. Philadelphia weather was against her. And then the family was happy when Andrea came along. And I know she was happy with her granddaughter. I regret that I did not have the chance to talk to her & fill in the gaps of what I knew about our family / my family. May her memory be blessed & be a blessing ???? ?????
