Ruth Fields Obituary

FIELDS


RUTH E. (nee Murph), of Phila. PA. Died Sept. 3, 2004, in Willingboro NJ, at the home of her oldest daughter, Bathsheba Campbell.
Mrs. Fields, born in South Carolina, the third child of James and Roseanna (Murchison) Murph, lived in Phila. since 1951. She was married to the late J.T. Fields. For much of her adulthood, Mrs. Fields worked at commercial laundry facilities in the Phila. area. A lifetime nurturer and caregiver, she also worked with the Call-A-Granni baby-sitting service, and, in her last employment, as an aide and companion to the elderly at Hayes Manor in Fairmount Park. Mrs. Fields was an active member of Prince of Peace Baptist Church in North Phila. She was Willing Worker, a long-time member of the usher board, and a deaconess.
Mrs. Fields is will be missed by her family, the pride of her abundant and generous life: a brother, Robert Murph and a sister, Christine Johnson, both of Phila.; her children, Bathsheba Campbell of Willingboro, Uriah Fields of Phila., Thisbe Fields of Los Angeles, Parthenia Fields of Roanoke VA., Lydia Nayo of Oakland CA and Shannon Fields Sr. of Tulsa OK.; her grand-children, David Campbell, Kelley Nayo-Cliett, Adriane Campbell-Carr, Calamita Fields, Amy Fields, Orion Fields, Timothy Johnson, Yannis Dominique, Roland Harris, Jr., Enoch Fields, Sarah Fields, Ruth P. Fields, Shannon Fields Jr., and Sydney Fields; as well as her great grand-children, Sharon Glenn, Desmond Cliett Jr., Paris Carr, Lena Cliett, Andre Fields, Sean McDermott, Marilyn Cliett and Aaron Fields.
Celebration of the life of this warm-loving woman will occur at 11 A.M., Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, at Prince of Peace Baptist Church, 3200 Berks St., Phila. Int. Glenwood Mem. Gardens, Broomall immediately following the Service. Arr. CORDOZA JACKS F.H.
